Which is what, exactly? That sole ship on the gate I could see with my scout can just start bumping me off the gate, and awox a dozen tornados to seal my fate.

Theres no way to avoid it.
Sure there is. The simplest way is to not move the ship and modules in one go — no one ship costs enough to be worth a freighter gank, and even two ships will be reasonably safe. Conversely, no fittings will take up enough space to make it impossible to carry them in a safe manner (blockade runner or Orca).

Tool #1 of avoiding ganking: carrying too little to be worth ganking. Works like a charm.

Really? If I have to move 5b 30j away, I should split it and move it five times for total of 9*30=270j? Pls be serious.

Yes.

And yes, I fly a freighter regularly.

Just the fact you put "plox" in the title makes me say no, in addition to the fact it would mess up the current balance of things. Try to petition for that freighter that gives up its cargo hold for a corp hangar instead.

Indeed but gankers used a noob ship in that particular case of ganking I witnessed - they agressed the freighter in a noob ship and bumped it in a machariel. BTW its np for me to test this, and I appreciate the data.

Here's a suggestion: try basing your statements on actual experience rather than suppositions.

An alt or a corpmate in a well-skilled rapier, huggin, or even a cheap-as-crap Hyena would be all you need.

...in fact, this is one instance where the Hyena is an excellent choice (you rarely hear those words in conjunction with an ewar frigate) since their speed and agility (and inherent lock time) greatly speeds up the process and reduces the amount of people needed to get a good chain going.
