As the new and modified ships for the winter have been announced over the last few weeks, I’ve been mocking them up using EveHQ to get a feel for their likely capabilities. I thought other people might be interested in doing the same, so I’m releasing my evehq settings files with the data for the modified ships. Instructions for using them are provided below:

Installation instructions:
1: Download EveHQ from this site and install it
2: Run EveHQ. It will probably demand that you install some SQL server thing from Microsoft. If it does, do it.
3: Download this zip file, which contains the specs of the modified ships.
4: Extract the contents of the downloaded file into the C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\EveHQ\HQF directory (this assumes you’re running windows vista/7. Can’t help you if you’re running anything else, sorry)
5: Run EveHQ again. Click the ‘manage API’ button in the top left of the window and import the API details for the characters you want to use to simulate the new ships.
6: In the main EveHQ window, click the “Plug-ins” section of the menu and then click on “EveHQ Fitter” at the top left of the ‘ribbon’ menu at the top of the screen. This will open up the program’s fitting tool. If you then type ‘new’ into the text box midway up the left-hand side of the window, you’ll see all the new/modified ships and will be able to mess around and make fits for them.

Notes and addenda:
EveHQ has a built-in tool for modifying ship stats and bonuses but not for changing module parameters. Therefore, changes to module fitting requirements or base weapon damage (such as the 10% reduction in medium artillery PG requirements) have been implemented as ship role bonuses on the hulls I was interested in. The same goes for things like the increase to light missile damage or the fittings reductions for medium remote rep modules. In all cases, these role bonuses have been set to give the correct values for the largest T2 module of the appropriate type and may therefore be slightly off if you start looking at meta/faction variants.

Disclaimer:
I am not a computer person. I have tested the above process on a clean computer and it all worked ok, but if your usage of the files causes your computer to catch fire or you end up getting violated by a rabid bear, I accept no responsibility whatsoever. Also, you probably had it coming, sucker.
