Chaff countermeasures

i have been reading about the missile nerf and it kinda annoys me, not because i ride missile boats but because that just dosnt make sense, progress just dosnt go backwards,

now the problem is ppl are having trouble countering missiles, so i thought the solution would be the solution ppl have come up with in real life to counter missiles

new module: chaff launcher, launches a cloud of metal scraps that sit between yourself and your target that takes 10 seconds to dissipate, and any missiles that flies through the cloud blows up

made from a modified probe launcher so it would be a high slot module, could fit 10 rounds and takes 60 seconds to reload

I like the idea, though I think maybe some tweaks would be needed to not make missile users completely useless (especially with all the utility high slots most ships have). Though 10 rounds at say...3 second cycle time wtih 60 second recharge would be good.

This very well could take place of the "Defender" missiles. Having the metal scraps have a decent chance to do the damage that defenders did (so it can take out a missile, or reduce damage from grouped missiles).

Maybe it could also use actual Metal Scraps, and give an additional use to them, instead of just being reprocessed goods.

make it bound to a new tech two dessie. winning. it'd basically do the job of a firewall ship, only not basically being a bastardized ship of some other variety.
