There are Two Parts to this post. First, there are a great number of hints linking Oruze with the Jovians ((even preceding Templar One)). Second, Oruze seems to be connected to energy collection at the local system star.

In the Oruze Osobynk you'll notice 6 Sleeper Engineering Stations.

Quote:
Sleeper Engineering Station
This enigmatic structure appears to house numerous engineering subsystems. An outer defense system is still online, shielding the installation from any hostile actions. Inside the facility there is a maze of data networks tangled amongst the cables and conduits that sustain them.

There are only 3 sites with these buildings:
Oruze Osobnyk (class 5 Anomaly)
Sleeper Information Sanctum (class 4 Anomaly)
Solar Cell (class 3 Anomaly)

Looking at these sites, the description of the Sleeper Information Sanctum mentions the idea of "knowledge" as "god", a very Jovian perspective.

Quote:
Sleeper Information Sanctum
Data is eternal, immortal, immutable. Even when the engineers and intelligence behind its creation are gone, information, facts, and knowledge never die. Throughout this deadspace pocket, information lives and breathes, whispering hidden meanings through conduits and cables. Serene though it may be, there are forces at work – mechanical by nature, artificial in existence, enlightened by unnatural choice – that do not want information to be shared. They are unsleeping guardians protecting the universe’s slumbering god, knowledge.

Furthering the Jovian connection is the Oruze Osobnyk description which explicitly mentions the Jovian Phantom Cruiser.

Quote:
Oruze Osobnyk
The mysterious structure inside this deadspace pocket offers few clues as to the purpose it once served. Similar compounds -- albeit far less complex than this one -- have been reported, each featuring the same huddled architecture, evocative of the enigmatic Phantom cruiser. What relation the “Oruze” structures may have to one another remains a mystery. An enclave positioned at the heart of the construct appears to have been entirely redesigned. It is flanked by two others, which in turn are hedged in by engineering stations that themselves seem to have been redesigned. The only insight into the unique architecture is the word “Oruze Osobnyk,” which continually resurfaces throughout the garbled, largely indecipherable transmissions that emanate from within. (emphasis added)

Moreover, the Oruze Construct design is highly reminiscent of the Jovian Apotheosis Shuttle.

At the Solar Cell site, you'll also see a whopping 12 Sleeper Thermoelectric Converters, a number rivaled only by the most massive of sleeper sites.

Quote:
Solar Cell
Warp-in description: Astrophysicists studying Sleeper sites have noted that some Sleeper structures are still operational – and by design, no less. Outposts run basic life support systems, engineering stations buzz with running motors, and stations glimmer with light, energy, and mundane activity. No known reason exists for this persistent operation, but a few clues emerge.
This cluster of thermoelectric converters is common around large solar bodies, supposedly for collecting radiation and storing energy for use throughout Sleeper colonies: a persistent generator for a dead race. Even to this day, this structure is operational, although how it distributes its energy and for what purpose is still unknown.

Sleeper Thermoelectric Converter
Despite countless years in space, this structure appears to be entirely functional. A brief analysis of the technology inside reveals that it operates as some kind of central power source for other Sleeper facilities. Faint seams in the rigid armor suggest it may even house a docking port to power the Sleeper's automated drones.

And at radar sites there is a variant confirming drone docking port and hanger.

Quote:
Eroded Sleeper Thermoelectric Converter
After countless years in space, this structure is showing some signs of age. A brief analysis of the semi-functional technology inside reveals that it operates as some kind of auxiliary power source for other structures. Erosion in one of the armor panels exposes a small internal hangar bay, perhaps used as a docking port to power the Sleeper's automated drones.

In the directory information for the Mirror we have a reference to Thermocryogenesis.

Quote:
Security Enclave
1.0 Virtual Kinetic Research
2.0 Artificial Intelligence Perpetuation Technology
3.0-5.0 Interstellar Surveillance Task Force
6.0 Anti-Thermocryogenesis Research and Implementation
7.0 Modulation Navigation Network"
(emphasis added)

Thermocryogenesis appears to be the study of the stresses generated when a container is under extreme thermal differential (as when flying near a nice hot sun, with the sun heating one side, and open space allowing the shaded side to rapidly cool).

Recalling the Solar Cell site's description, it's possible anti-thermocryogenesis is related to the Thermoelectric Converter structures, perhaps as some form of research into some way of keeping these buildings from cracking under stress:

Quote:
This cluster of thermoelectric converters is common around large solar bodies, supposedly for collecting radiation and storing energy for use throughout Sleeper colonies: a persistent generator for a dead race.

Perhaps more pertinently, the Mirror also has a reference to Thermovoltaics and Photoelectrics, conveniently filed under the Oruze header.

Quote:
Oruze Enclave
1.0 Solar Engineering
1.1 Photoelectrical Engineering
1.2 Thermovoltaics
1.3 Residential
1.4 Residential
(emphasis added)

This, is a clear connection linking solar power generation to the Oruze structures.

Furthermore, one convincing alternative I've heard to direct power conversion (from sun to structures) is using sleeper drones as intermediaries for the heat. Here, a drone would fly near the sun, warming its hull greatly (thus the need for thermocrygenetic research). Then, the drone would warp home and dock into a Thermoelectric Converter, creating an internal heat gradient for the building to use Thermovoltaic action to power itself and other structures. (I got this from somewhere in the giant Pottsey super thread, I think).

But that's not all... and I'll preface this portion by stating I'm not a Russian speaker, but I have, from time to time, tinkered with translations of many languages.

The words Oruze Osobynk may not be a letter for letter translation, because in the Cyrillic alphabet, there's a set of special modifying characters, that look remarkably like 'b's to the english eye: ы (yery), Ъ (yer), Ь (yeri), and Ѣ (yat). The purpose of these letters is to add various 'yeh' sounds to a nearby letter. For an example in another language, think "piña colada", the difference in sound between the letter 'N' (en) and the letter 'Ñ' (enye) in Spanish shows how the addition of a "yer" to the Spanish letter 'N' would change the sound.

Likewise letter 'n', may not be an "en" sound but may be a Cyrillic 'И' in disguise. 'И', is in fact a vowel, producing an "eee" sound as in "leech".

So, if we think of the 'b' (or even the 'y') in Osobynk as a yer-type modifier instead of a true 'b' sound and the 'n' as a vowel instead of a consonant, we have new possibilities. One that I've found which looks pretty close is "особый" which, in Russian, means "special" (note that in Cyrillic, 'c' produces the "ess" sound, English normally associates with an 's'... the 'б' produces the English 'b' sound as in "baby".. and the 'й' is a short "eee" sound as in "squeek"). If you tack a separate 'к' on to the end of the word, we have "особый к", which means "special to" or "special towards" (remind anyone of "denim"... "de nimes"?). This doesn't quite match up with Russian grammar, but many languages have "postpostions", tacking their prepositions to the end of a word, if the words were carried over from one language to another, the proposition usage might switch places.

Further "Cyrillicizing" the first word "Oruze" with a fricative variant of 'z', the letter 'ж' can be substituted to produce the word "Оруже" (with the Cyrillic 'р' producing the English "r' sound and the Cyrillic 'y' producing an English "oooh" sound as in "ooze"... the 'ж' character produces a rarely heard sound in English related to the letter 'j'... think "John Claude van Damme"... the 'J' in John is voiced differently than usual and most movie announcers are true to the "fricative" sound "Zhohn"... that "Zh" is the "ж" sound). In Russian, Оруже means "weapons".

Thus, we have "Оруже Oсобый к"... which transliterates to "Weapons Special to" and which might be translated to "Towards Special Weapons"... i.e. "Special Weapons Research" or "Special Weapons Development". Given their relationship to the solar engineering and power harvesting, the Oruze structures may be related to the development of super weapons that use suns as their power source (Seyllin anyone?).

Leaning on this idea, the thermocryogensis research may once again have been intended for the drones. Since we know that Isogen-5 was involved in the Seyllin event and that it is harvested from stars, most likely by drones. Thus, hypothetically, the drones would have required methods to allow them to safely approach the source of the "fuel" for the weapons.

Similar words in different languages, errors in transcription, differing translations...

There may not be a direct translation; there may in fact be multiple meanings of the words with similar semantic significance. My interpretation using Greek and Faulx's interpretation using Cyrillic both lead to similar (though not identical) interpretations of the data. However, there's a great deal of confirmation bias involved in the analyses.

The contents of the sites may in fact have multiple uses, just like the various hints regarding Isogen-5.

@Roga

Careful now, that's not quite what he said...

CCP Dropbear wrote:

I'm not Russian, and neither are the Talocan,...

He said that the Talocan arn't Russian, not that the words weren't derived from Russian or something similar. Moreover, the translation I gave is partially valid in a few other languages, it half works in Belarusian, Croatian, Serbian, and probably a few other languages that share roots with Russian.

"Oруже особ" or something similar translates to something like "personal weapons" in nearly all of these.

Also, the grammar I had to use to get to "special weapons development" was definitely non-Russian... and shared a lot of traits with Finnish or Japanese. Which (assuming you buy any of this) indicates that the "Russian" words were absorbed into a foreign language who imposed their own grammar usage on them.

Speculating wildly (...like I haven't already, right?), this could indicate that one culture "found" and reverse engineered technical specifications from another culture, inheriting the vocabulary from the previous work... possibly the Sleepers finding Talocan ruins (or vice versa)... or the Talocan and/or Sleepers finding "Terran Artifacts"

The Mirror wrote:

3.4-3.5 Terran Artifacts
4.1 Theories of the EVE Gate
5.1 Talocan Technology
6.1-6.9 Emergent Ideologies
(emphasis added)

There is some evidence of a Talocan/Sleeper technological crossover.

Remember how I said the Sleeper Engineering Station only appeared in 3 sites? Well, in fact, there is another.

Quote:
Integrated Terminus (class 4 Anomaly)
Here you are again: another dead end. This impasse is not a physical one, but an ancient one. Why is there a Sleeper station near these Talocan ruins? Why does it seem like these ancient races, long dead and all but forgotten, are intertwined, like star-crossed lovers in the universal play? Perhaps the answer rests in that terminal. Only one way to find out.

...containing a variant on the engineering station:

Quote:
Sleeper Archive Terminal
This structure appears to be a modified engineering station, although it contains more instruments for information-gathering than commonly seen in stations of its ilk. Currently inactive, the terminal sports a great number of antechambers and libraries both digital and physical, as well as innumerable laboratories of all shapes and sizes.

...which when destroyed produces the message:

Quote:
With the terminal’s destruction, knowledge is scattered, data strewn in thousand of directions. There are no answers here; only debris remains. Secrets have been lost to the void, perhaps containing among them some key to salvation from this bleak existence.

Another hint of this is in the descriptions for the Loki Defensive-Amplification Node and the Tengu Defensive-Amplification Node, which both state something like:

"Talocan Structures were found ... with unexpected harmony of Sleeper and Talocan design".

That all being said, Is any of this probative? Hardly. Tantalizing? Certainly. Cool

No.. P

I started to expand a bit last night and got too tired to continue, apologies..

While exploring the list of objects from wormhole space that Borascus posted I found some further insights that I didn't get the chance to expand upon, and thus you got the enignmatic 27 above.. Orthrus and Sirius, the sentry guns of the Sleepers, are hunting dogs of Orion. Orion bears some startling resemblences to Maleatu Shakor...

He was blinded after some kind of confrontation with the Pleiades, the supposed origins of the Anunaki (hints of Amarr). He is taken into the east and healed by Helios, the sun.

While exploring the idea of Anoikis, and it's correlation to programmed cell death, I noticed Anoikis is unique to the tissues of the eye. Another symbol rife in the mystery. Calcium is a primary substance associated with Anoikis, leading, if I understand it correctly, to stigmatism due to calcification of the cells in the eye. I started to get frustrated, and lost in the subject and stepped away at that point.

Nitrogen is another substance intimately connected to Anoikis.. Which turned on a light bulb in my head.

Crate of Archaeological Lot GV87-426-D Artifacts holds another clue for us, but, considering I have no extensive chemistry or medical training, I am struggling to comprehend the possible meanings implied.

Argon is the primary component of the atmosphere on the moon the above lot of artifacts was found. Argon is created through interaction of nitrogen and a certain calcium, the primary source of which is implied to be living organisms, which hints at where all the oxygen went, as Argon is usually a trace gas... Implementation of Faulx's superweapon.

Anoikis is also closely related to Alzheimer's, which shows many parallels to the Jovian Disease. The Jove seem to be trying to remove a metaphorical tumor from their infomorph society.

I seem to recall an as yet undeciphered stream of data from somewhere that was thought to be trinary data.. In exploring the Ruins of Enclave Cohort 27 I came across the possible transposition method for trinary datastreams posted above. Which is associating 0 with a space and 1-27 with the english alphabet.. Dug from a line of translating Enhuadanni, specifically the Hedu part, from a people who use a base 27 counting system.. In the beautiful Eve manner of duality and overlapping meaning in the Jovian language, there is also Huada.. Another nod toward the Yan Jung.. Take note of the curriculum.. I will take this back up later, expanding on Ruins of Enclave Cohort 27, but, for now RL calls... Give me some good stuff for later guys, your input is fantastic, and I thank you all for the debate!

Quick Addendum, Tau is associated with Time, Life and Rebirth.. While Ceti is associated with this..

God I love stepping back and ruminating... I'm back, with a fresh perspective!

Where to start? First, to understand the Jove, we have to understand how they think. OR, rather, how the Devs think they think. That has become painfully obvious to me in this discussion.. The Jovians are a Collective, the Jovian Assembly, nominally ruled by an Inner Assembly.. So, really, "ruled by" is a misnomer from the get go. They are a Collective, subconsciously tied together.

Linguistic Relativity has direct bearing on their view of Jovian psychology. The following illucidates much of what the Jove are about;

Quote:
"My name is Grious, and I am here to protect you and to assist the Minmatars with their mission to rescue the Elders."

What the hell, she thought. Protect me? Taking a quick inventory of her body, Viola felt some mild soreness in her chest and legs. But it was her eyes that hurt more than anything else.

And the Jove think quite differently than normal humans. So, as I said, with this in mind, I shall take a crack at explaining the Ruins of Enclave Cohort 27 and what it may signify... When Viola asks about the Order [the way things are], or the Enhuadanni [those Jovian rat bastards who enforce the way things are], Grious is at a loss to explain it. First, we have to understand who created the Order [the way things are]. The Architects..

Now, given that the Jove have problems expressing concepts to basic humans, we can't take Architects to be more than a guesstimation on their part.. Are they architects? Obviously that is too simple an answer.. Are they designers? Yes, obviously they are that, too.. Builders? Yep.. Creators? Ahh, there we have a concept that covers it better.. But, the Devs couldn't use that for obvious reasons..

I always wondered at the Jove considering the Architects their Gods, as some have stated in relation to Templar One.

So, applying the same logic to the Ruins of Enclave Cohort 27, I started looking at what an Enclave might mean to them, after alot of head scratching and muttering, I came to the simple assumption of an ethnic urban center, a citystate, as that is how the chronicles portray them. No big mystery there. Jovian citystates.. Next comes Cohort, or more specifically, Enclave Cohort. A cohort is a classification within the Roman Legions. An Urban Cohort (cohortes urbanis) are the police force for a citystate.

Now, these Dream Police wouldn't need to reside in the citystate they protect, which is a virtuality. They would likely have their own structure, kept seperate from the virtuality by a strong firewall. An Enclave Cohort.. Now, this is well in keeping with the odyssey\frontier theme in place in Anoikis. So, an Enclave Cohort is a police precinct for the Jovians.. This one happens to be the 27th Precinct . One I'm sure most of you are familiar with. So, the Ruins of Enclave Cohort 27 represent a breakdown of Law & Order within Anoikis..Bear

Not sure how to take that Nikilaiki... If I harshed your mellow, I apologize...Oops

You guys have done it to me repeatedly.. Evil But, I love ya for it..

The idea has been creeping up on me and is supported by a number of implications present in Anoikis. For instance, The Mirror's hierarchal stucture appears to mimic the digital channel scheme of American television. Main channels and subchannels, though, it has some differences I can't define.

The Coronation Platform is another hint.. What would rule a people who really didn't need a charismatic figurehead? An ideological figurehead? One such as an ethos [postulate] becoming a logos [imperative]? Coronation implies the crowning of a new king who is not the direct offspring of an old king. If the Architects were updating the servers, say, on a yearly basis, they would need somewhere for this updating to take place. The Jove can't logoff at server downtime..

Another hint I got was from cross referencing, Nale, one of the characters in some relevent chrons, like, Black Mountain, and the word Order.. What I came up with was OOTS.. Nale is the evil twin of Elan, one of the main characters..

Quote:
Much of the comic's humor stems from these characters either being aware of the game rules that affect their lives or having anachronistic knowledge of modern culture, which in turn is often used by the author to parody various aspects of role-playing games and fantasy fiction.

Echoing the light hearted jabs I'm sure the Devs want to give those screaming about absolutely imperative realism they demand from a video game that's interface is a keyboard, mouse and monitor..

Hona is Hindi for "To Be", or not to be?

This came about looking for acronyms for OSOBNYK, which I still think is an acronym. And most probably the physical aspect of The Construct.. For instance, ORACLE.

Another hint was Terran artifacts.. Not physical artifacts, psychological artifacts..

Something you said about The Mirror, Niki, with it they could refit the drones into any configuration they desired. Themselves, as well.. Because, boiled down to it's basest interpretation, that's what they are.. Drones.

What is the purpose of a Von Neuman - machine? What is the purpose of a Jovian? Tesselation. Yan Jung Thunder Kite.

Quote:
Another mighty angel appears standing with one foot on the sea and the other on land, holding an opened little book.
The angel cries out and seven thunders utter their voices.
The apostle John is commanded to seal up what the thunders uttered in the little book, and is told not to write about what was said.
The angel declares that the mystery of God would be revealed on the sounding of the seventh trumpet.
John is instructed to take the little book and to eat it.

Families with r=2 contain regular hyperbolic tilings, defined by a Coxeter group such as [7,3]

Finally, there is an item in the database, which I can't seem to find atm Sad, that shows a mass of items in a modular design that is Talocan.. Thunder kites are a section of a building block..

So, what does this imply about the Enclaves, of which we find two distinct types? Sleeper and Oruze. The Sleeper Enclaves are storage areas for bodies. The Oruze Enclaves harbor consciousness' only. That is why the Sleeper Enclaves seem to be more prevalent than the Oruze Enclaves. You don't need as much space to store a conscioussness as you do a body..

Expanding, the Sleeper bodies have the Jovian Disease, so extracting bioimplants from them is a risky venture..

Argos is another hunting dog, blinded by old age and famed for his hunting skills and loyalty to his master Odysseus

Corronation comes from the word Corona, the visible firery ring during a solar eclipse.

Regarding Thunder Kit, the obvious implication is Benjamin Franklin's Kite Experiment. However, Kite is also a Bird, and the Black Kite is a form taken by sisters Nephthys ("Lady of the Temple Enclosure") and Isis("(She of the Throne") and there brother/husband Seth/Set is the God of Thunder. This dovetails with the Osiris Myth

Also regarding the Von-Neuman machines, this work lead to Cellular automaton, there is the Yan Jun Force Repeller device.

Corona has had a few meanings. One which I've always thought was important in this context was "top of the head"... After all, where are those sleeper implants located?. I suspect "coronation" may have been the procedure of installing the sleeper implant. This would also explain why the platforms are "forgotten" and no longer in use, since after a while the Sleepers were no longer physically reproducing, and there would have been no new bodies to have needed the procedure.

To determine the purpose of the Coronation Platform, it might also be helpful to examine its structures in relation to other sleeper sites.

Space is a lullaby, exploration a dream. The motionless environments beyond the wormholes are places of refuge, retirement, safety, stasis. Nestled in this corner, a comfortable deadspace pocket, something ancient resides: a society asleep, their secret structures inert and isolated, safe in soundless void.
These ruins doze away, oneiromantic. They’ve slumbered for millennia, yet their structure remains intact. In their torpor, their memories have dimmed, their significance forgotten, their inhabitants faded. Ripe secrets are stored in this sleeping mass, hidden wonders for the taking.
Reaching the Sleepers’ treasures is a hazardous task. Something stirs amidst the ancient outpost: a nagging fear, a festering phantasm. Not everything sleeps peacefully here: Who knows if there are nightmares lurking in this berceuse?

3x Sleeper Interlink Hub ... (hardened data transfer cables... and possibly passageways)

Sleeper Enclave
Imposing in its majesty, this giant dome stands as a testament to the technological might of the ancient Sleeper race. Even millennia old, the innumerable electronics systems within are still comparable to contemporary technology, in some cases even exceeding it. The distinctive hub-like design of this particular structure suggests that it operated as some kind of central data nexus, a shining capital amongst a digital metropolis.
Although entirely functional and intact, the only signs of life within are electrical currents and the eerily constant transfers of data.

Abandoned Sleeper Enclave (broken variant found in other sites)
...
This Enclave is heavily damaged from thousands of years in the unforgiving solitude of space. The only signs of life within are weak electronic signals.

Sleeper Interlink Hub
Distinctively Sleeper in design, this structure operates as an information hub, linking up various data sources with one another. An extraordinarily resilient superstructure guards the flow of information inside from any disruption.

Sleeper Preservation Conduit

Tiny windows looking out into space offer a glimpse past this structure’s impressive armor plating and through to the strange sights within. Barely visible in the dim light are rows upon rows of small chambers, stretching out endlessly inside the darkened hallways of this mammoth conduit. A myriad of connective wires interlace with giant pipelines, feeding into every area of the facility. Although they can be seen coiling up through the foundations, the compounds they are ferrying remain a mystery.
A strange electronic interference emanates from deep within, pulsing randomly every few seconds.

Crippled Sleeper Preservation Conduit (broken variant found in other sites)
... structure’s once-impressive armor ...
...giant pipelines, all of them broken or badly damaged....
...interference emanates from deep inside the facility, suggesting that perhaps not everything inside has fallen into disrepair.

The same layout of buildings is present in the Forgotten Core Data Field (class 5 Cosmic signature; Magnometric) and is also found in The Ruins of Enclave Cohort 27 (class 2 Anomaly) along with another group of structures.

What does this mean for the Coronation Platform? No clue, but it might imply that Enclave Cohort 27 once contained one and that Core Data Field once was one.

P.S.
Niki, I tried to find some Greek that looked close to Osobnyk, but it looks like Greek really hates to have a 'β' (beta) in front of an 'ν' (nu). The word "όσο" means "as" though. It's those last four that make it really hard to find anything close. So, "όρυζε όσο ????" or "Rice, as ????". The grammar on "όρυζε" is very weird here. ending in 'ε' alone seem to put it in the vocative case, which would be like you're talking to the rice. For example, in the sentence "Niki, I tried to find some Greek that looked close to Osobnyk," the word "Niki" would have to be put into the "vocative case" if it were translated to Greek. In English, position in the sentence and context help designate the cases, but in Greek, they "conjugate" the endings (-ς, -ί, -νς,...) and that tells what function the word performs. I am at bit of disadvantage, not being very familiar with the language though. If its any consolation, the Cyrillic alphabet is directly based on the Greek one...

At the moment, I'm looking for novel approaches for looking at OSOBNYK.

I've ruled out

As elements we end up with:

Oxygen-Silicon-Oxygen-Boron-Nitrogen-Yttrium-Potassium
Osmium-Oxygen-Boron-Nitrogen-Yttrium-Potassium

Searching for compounds including these results in nothing obvious, but do tend to end up leading to ceramics.
