Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? No,
Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.:

Grid loading after a jump was very slow. It always loaded, but there were times during the grid loading process when the FPS was zero for 10 to 20 seconds. Only once did the grid load fast enough for me to align before a fleet warp was issued. Many times it seems like the client was still trying to catch up even during the warp and after arriving at the next gate.

Turning on brackets caused only the smallest drop in FPS, like from 16 to 14 while sitting at a gate.

Fleet voice worked, a rarity for the Mac.

I was able to connect to the district and see the strikes.

Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? no actual crashes, but grid did not load after first jump, problem did not reappear after client restart but the lag was massive even compared to previous mass tests (traffic control issues, took ages to undock in 6-CZ49 and even more to warp to the beacon...naturally this wrecks any fun I might have from participating in massive 0.0 fleet battles)
Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: What was the deal with connecting to districts? I was hoping to see some orbital bombardments.

Workarounds are not bugfixes.

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: Traffic control on the gates was really slow...by the time I reached Odamia the orbital test had already been carried out and peeps were warping out to planet 1 for moving.
Fight at the end was good, this is my first mass test so if there not common at the end I would recommend that you put something like that at the end of other mass tests even if its not needed for testing.

nice test.. like the orbital stuff

one annoying issue tho is when looking at the districts in orbit, if you right click zoom whilst having the cursor over the district the focused zoom will not disengage unless u reset the camera.

some people were complaining about their views getting stuck and i guess it was this. but was quickly sorted by resetting the camera view.

have uploaded an edited version of my experience of the orbital bombardment section as well as the gate travelling section into a youtube vid for any additional info (shows my exact graphics setup!

Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? None
Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: With my new, optimized hardware its a complete different experience. Everything was smooth and the Orbital bombardement was several times clearly to see. The TD (time dilation) after gatejumps was as expected and I had no problem with the grid after the TD-effect. No crashes as mentioned. In former tests I participated mainly with Supercaps (Titans, Supercarriers, Carriers) which caused always trouble. This I still have to test with my new hardware setup. This test I used only frigates and destroyers. The EVE-Voice was also very clear and not lagging at all. Investing in good hardware makes realy a difference! :)

Did you experience any disconnects or crashes?: No
Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: One of my clients had a major problem during the combat phase. I warped into the combat zone with everyone else but i was not able to see anyone other than people in my fleet in my overview or on grid. About 1/2 way through my armor the entire enemy fleet blob warped in slow motion. Prior to that i was being attacked by multiple people from the fleet that were not showing up on grid or on my overview. I think this had something to do with time dilation.

  • Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? None.
  • Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.:

  • 1.) Traffic control is still a persistent issue but with everything going on I completely understand and prefer that resources are being dedicated to other things.
2.) Lots of graphical lockups on my old beast of a machine - having brackets on was utter hell and just trying to get to the overview settings to turn them off was a problem on it's own. At one point jumping between Mantenault and Odamia my entire system had locked up for several minutes and couldn't do anything as I waited for everything to unfreeze.
3.) We need some way of knowing when we're connected to districts when looking away from the planets. As is, it's great that it's obvious when looking there but if I look away at something else (say another ship exploding at the time, lol) but need something on the UI to let us know what's going on.
4.) During some of the heavier lag points I noticed that a pilot's info came up in my locked targets bar (usually reserved for ships and stuff).
5.) Phobos and Hyperion models turned all white after the orbital strike (or what I can assume was such). The Phobos only had the globes on either side of it textured/colored - the rest was pure flickering white.
6.) Dramiel and Rook textures would flicker on and off.
7.) Nightmare's model looked like it had been run through a blender.
8.) Planet 6 - District 7, the planet loaded without textures and was just plain grey/tan with the glow of the atmosphere. No visible city art on the surface.
