Hello you awesome sauce players of Eve. I've been playing for about 20 hrs - ish, and loving it. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'm working on my first agent missions, military - and I've been given a basic armor repair module. Great! However, I do not have the repair systems skills. I went into the market, and it looks like there are tons for sale. I even found one that seems to be sold at the station I am at.

I then clicked buy the skill for I thnk 25k isk. great! Now I can train it.

But it isn't showing up in my inventory. I look at market for "my orders" -- nothing is showing. -- ?? How do I get the repair skill I just bought? nothing is in email -- not sure what to do.

Any suggestions? Thx

It should be in your hangar at the station you bought it. :| if its not there, might be lag/delay on someones side, or did you actually buy it? :)

One way trip! Why dont you drive?

Your "orders" are your buy and sell orders, which I doubt you would have at this stage.

To find where all your stuff is, click the "assets" button in your neocom (the one that looks like a safe). That will bring up a window showing the stations where all your items are located.

You should find it on the assets list in some item hanger someplace. Keep in mind that in many cases the agent will give you a civilian module that requires no skill training to use. Then as a mission reward you often get the skill to train or even sell if you don't want the skill.

Check the assets button in the neocom like the people before me have suggested.

Remember: when you buy something it will appear in the hangar of the station you bought it in. You might have to travel a bit to retrieve the item. But watch out if you buy stuff in lowsec. You might get killed. And if you buy something in nullsec sov space you will not be able to dock unless you are in the alliance that controls the station.

Ungi maðurinn þekkir reglurnar, en gamli maðurinn þekkir undantekningarnar. The young man knows the rules, but the old man knows the exceptions.

As a follow-up to this good advice I would suggest that you adjust the settings in your market window to show only items in highsec for the time being.

Also, before buying, always click 'set destination' in the location drop-down menu. Although the item is located in a highsec station the only available route to it could take you through lowsec and this simple check will show you if this is the case.

The assets function has a search facility that will find your item.

If you own it, it will find it.

OK. I am totally new to EVE myself and so maybe I am not the best person to answer this...
But, on the other hand, I did this mission myself just a day or so ago and from what I remember I was given that Skillbook as a reward in the very first tutorial when AURA sent me off to destroy a Fuel Depot... I am sure that the Repair Systems skill is the one used as an example when it is first explained how to learn skills...
Maybe I remember it incorrectly but I never had to buy any Skillbooks until I needed Industry... I certainly had no problem fitting any of the early 'Granted' or 'Reward' modules...

You did.

Gallente get Repair System, but, Minmatar get Shield Operation at that point.

Yes that's correct, you get those skill books for free. See: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Tutorial_and_Career_Agents_in_Eve

Ah, I see... It makes sense that different races get different Skillbooks....
Well, I am pleased to have at least learned something... (I did say I was probably not the best person to answer this question...)
