Ships having paint jobs that reflect the faction, not the manufacturer

Ever since I started EVE, I've always wondered about how people felt about the idea of customized paint jobs on ships.
Now I don't mean paint jobs in the way of pimping a ride. I mean it by, say you're corp fancies itself being aligned with EoM. Why isn't there an option to add a skin to your ship that matches the faction your corp identifies with? Sure it would mostly be for RP purposes, but I think CCP would save themselves some trouble by letting the pilot choose a design or possibly create one for each ship. Every hull would come in its standard race skin, but what if you're in FW on the Amarr side and you want your Megathron to be gold?

...wait....gold Megathron?
I think I just answered my own question as to why this hasn't been done.

I would still like some elaboration from pilots with more experience or just anyone with an astute observation on this subject.

CCp has said they want to do it, but they needed to V3 all ships first and then solve the TTP problem.

Custom ship skins, character creator style "repaint". Bring it!

I think the TTP means "Time to [male exclusive bodypart, since I can't write *****]".
Meaning the time from release till someone draws a [male exclusive bodypart] shape.

Since this is the idea behind the Titan class anyways, who is so politically correct that they would be freaked by the appearance of genitalia on a ship's paint job?

Seriously, who? I like shooting those over sensitive nutter jobs, and it helps to have a list.
