Does anyone know what else besides ships players can build, or the content of the sandbox

you can fly in circles, you can fly in squares, you can fly in rectangles. you can sit in a station and spin your ship. You can fly in ovular patterns.

You can war dec somebody and dock up when they try to attack you, you can make ship equipment,
you can haul merchandise, you can mine, kill ****.

Believe it or not, you can actually not fly at all and just sit there in your ship.

Its all about making your own content, do whatever it is you feel like doing.

you can also just post on the forums.

You can build a massive corp to take over the EVE universe.

I'm a nerd, you can check my stats!! Skilling Int/Mem at 45 sp per minute is how I mack!     I'm like a lapdog, all bark no bite.

I understand that, that is the basic game play / design for any mmo out there on the market. However, my question still remains, can you build anything else besides ships and upgrades, I know there are also implants upgrades for your clone.

If you mean mfg, you can build POS, ammo etc, but pretty much any item players use, though not sure on implants, those i think are all from misisons or LP stores.

By corp I mean you start a corp, make big moves and you become the new overlord of EVE.!!

Things you can build, basically:
* Ships
* Modules
* Rigs
* Ammo
* Structures
* Drugs
And various intermediate parts / materials.

Cannot build:
* Implants.
* Skill books.
* Blueprint originals.
* Reactions.

With the exception of implants, faction/deadspace/officer (see: "shiny") weapons/mods, skillbooks, PLEX, and maybe the odd knick-knack here or there... everything is pretty much "made" by players.

Rec Star wrote:

"Corp" is short for Corporation... which is the equivalent of a "Guild" in other MMOs.

Alliances are collections of Corporations that come together under one banner.
Coalitions are unofficial alliances between Alliances.

With a corp you gain the ability to build structures (like POSs (Player Owned Station)) and/or, if you are charismatic enough, structure people a certain way to do your bidding.

POS = Player Owned Starbase (stick-like object that generates a force field "bubble").

Stations that players can build and own are called Outposts.

Sandcastles... can't believe no one suggested it yet :shakefist:
But the power of the sandbox is also the probability of destruction of said sandcastlesTwisted

You can build sand castles in the sky. You can create all the things that are ingame, except implants, BPOs and tears. Tears are harvested. There are some BPOs for that in highsec that drop sometimes but if you try to copy too many the BPO deteriorates and dissolves

The point I guess is that tears are created from crushed (or delayed) dreams.

So unless people had (or hopefully still have) dreams of glory, there would be no tears.

If you can't find pleasure in making your own plan/scam/scheme actually work, then EvE is the wrong game to play.

Tears, however important, is a sideeffect of a (possibly) failed plan.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Sandbox content means interaction with other players.

Themepark: Old guy with a bead and a ! above his head asks you to go into the Basilisk Woods and bring him 6 Dire Wolf tails

Sandbox: Your corp CEO asks you to go to Jita and bring back 250 Interdictor Sphere Launchers to seed your local market with

Thempark: Tall woman with cleavage-displaying armour and a ! above her head asks you to take 19 friends into the DeepDark and kill HoJillion'Mo'Billion The Fangmaster plus as many of his minions as you can. It takes a while to get a healer in your PUG. The reward is a legendary-level shield.

Sandbox: Your alliance FC asserts that you and your corpmates prefer the sexual attentions of your own gender, and further implies that your mother's affections were the highlight of his birthday party, because not enough of you are flying Triage carriers, then your fleet jumps in to gank a hostile Titan. You manage to scoop an A-type Invuln.

All of the sandbox items that are within the confines of the game are what CCP dictates.

  • You can’t invent or create something that CCP hasn’t already created a hard schematic for, e.g., you can’t modify a T1 afterburner to anything more that a T2 afterburner. You can’t make a special or unique item.
  • You can’t change the high, mid or low slots that are available on a ship (except tier 3).
  • You can’t kill someone in highsec without concord intervention, unless there is an active wardec or you have kill rights on someone.
  • You can’t take over someone else’s POS.
  • You can’t allow friends to access your POS unless they are in your corp.
  • You can’t fit larger weapon systems on most ships then they are intended for, save the T3 battle cruisers.
  • You can’t kill someone that scams you without concord retaliation (unless they are in a player corp, then you must wardec the corp).
  • You can’t configure the load-outs of your drones.
  • You can’t fly Caps in highsec (except freighters and orca’s).
  • You can’t walk outside of your captain’s quarters or interact with other pilots outside of a capsule.

Just a few thoughts…

Mostly true

However:

* If a POS is unanchored you can scoop it and then deploy it for yourself (your corp technically).
* You CAN let people have access to your POS without them being in your corporation. POS can be set to let alliance members use certain facilities of the POS and access the shield. Same with out of alliance people by giving them the password, this means they too can access the shield of the POS.

Stations, towers, modules, massive piles of isk to name a few. Get out of highsec if you want to build more than ships.

You would prefer the ! sporting npcs over an over-aggressive fc with daddie issues? An fc who simply wants what all fc's want, some more triage carriers to hold him tight and who'll still rep him when the whole universe is trying to kill him? Hot tip. Don't join SoCo.
