Making the Prophecy work

Going forward, the obvious problem between the prophecy and maller is going to be, slightly more cost, for more umph if you choose to give them the same bonus.

Rather than do that, I would give the Prophecy a different kind of damage bonus that makes it more parallel with the Apoc, yet keeps its resistance.

So the solution would be:

15% per level optimal bonus
5% per level resistance bonus

6 turrets
+50 PG
+15 CPU
Lock range 48km base


What those features do is provide a niche that neither steals from the Pulse Zealot that gets a double damage bonus, nor the Maller which will be the pure damge/tank ship with slightly higher dps potential but less range with pulses.

I've set the targeting range really low to help reduce the ease of fitting for pure range w/o trading off some slot somewhere.

With 3 heat sinks, this setup would top out at 329 dps out to 56km range with pulses, but only top out around 460 with conflag. Both benchmarks lower than either the zealot or a 5 beam maller's lvl 5 potentials.

It's also going to run into Capacitor problems due to the removal of the Laser capacitor bonus. Unbonused Pulses are something like 20-28 cap per second with max skills and ammo choices.

Other than the maller being faster, more agile and having a smaller sig, like the same difference between most cruisers and bcs?

Prophecy really needs something done with it, yes.. I like this thing, pulse lasers are the only way to get some dps from proph right now, but their range is awful (combined with the speed of proph this is an issue). With optimal bonus I may like it, yes. CCP, you wanted to give amarrans some love?..

Give the ammarians some decent medium beam lasers for the prophecy and it could become the armor tanked version of what the drake was for shield tankers. Imagine, INVASION OF THE SPACE CHICKENS!!!

ccp is most likely gonna do with the prophecy what they said they'd do with the maller

+5% to damage per level

Prophecy is already outmatched by the Harbinger as a laser platform. How about giving a HAM bonus instead?

5% armor ressist plus 5% HAM RoF as well as some stat buffs could make it a viable option and a steppig stone towards the Khanid T2 ships.

I agree with HAM platform - Amarr are missing a t1 missile option that steps towards Damnation, Prophecy etc.

There is no t1 missile platform for Amarr for a reason. Just like there is no cruiser platform, no destroyer platform, no battleship platform, and for the better part of eve history, there was also no frigate platform.

the only missile platforms ever were T2.

Amarr use drones as their secondary weapon.

Amarr = lasers and drones
Minmatar = projectiles and missiles
Caldari = missiles and hybrids
Gallente = hybrids and drones


There are exceptions, but if you give each race too many weapon systems, the skillpoints to use them becomes out of line.

The idea is simple: Punisher, maller, Prophecy, Abaddon for one line. On the other line is: some frig, omen, harbinger, armageddon. It makes perfect sense.

it's not the most sensible approach when you have 2 CR damage boats that only slightly differ in style. Prophecy needs a more unique role... hence apoc/abaddon hybrid.
