Future Carrier life?

I have been thinking this out for awhile now...

What if there would be change in the future:
(thinking about real world carrier fleets)

There would be new Super Carrier that makes our present carriers and supercarriers smaller.

- would have capability to launch 100 fighters and 20+ bombers, making them fly in little wings. Fighters protting bombers etc.
- would have hardpoints or modules that could be destroyed. Like hangars, engines, etc.
- defensive batteries countering fighters, bombers, bigger torps and stuff, range should be short so you cant use them offensively
- no cyno possibility, should have battleship or titan making wormhole for travelling
- could have own tractorfield that could prevent smaller ships from fleeing (1000km or something)

Basically so big and expensive ship that it would really make a difference in fleet battles. Could take really high amounts of damage and rarely would be killed, but you could make it cripled by destroying those mods or hardpoints...

This is because the carriers now, arent real carriers. They are some small boats that can lauch only few flying objects. Think about real life Nemesis or something like those, they can launch loads of stuff and still prot themself from attacks.

Now I throw this for consideration and ideas would be nice to makeing this work...

Yeah... that sounds like something that goes horribly wrong after it goes live.

Titans were supposed to be too big and expensive to be widespread, and here we are now.

It sounds more like you are describing a battle / outpost by capabilities.
The idea a single pilot could begin to control something that complex begins to fall apart at some point, requiring automated default behavior unless multiple pilots somehow worked together on it.

That might be one solution... makeing 3-5 pilots handling that ship?

It would make the flying and fighting with that thing all different experience...would it?

... and maybe they could make the producing one of these so hard that there wouldnt be too many of those? (something very rare things that you need to produce them?)

can't do that. the server creates a paradox when you try and have more than one person in the same ship.

This could mean the end of the universe as we know it.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

So it cant be fixed?
It is there and nobody can do anything about it?

Simply put, it can't be a ship.

Maybe it could be a deathstar styled POS, with people performing gunner roles, etc.
(Instead of guns, some modules could control defensive drones, etc)

They did mention at one point making POS's mobile like that, just slower to relocate than a cap ship by a huge difference.

Words cannot quite grasp how bad this idea is.

play homeworld much?
lol

we don't need to go bigger right now honestly, we need to make the smaller stuff more relevant again

I dont understand why you would want such a thing.

I also think that maybe you don't really know how this game works.

The only ships in Eve that are capable of having a BS bridge them are Cov Ops ships, and no ships create "wormholes" they are bridges.

And destroyable hangers and such? That is far and away more complex than what we have now all by itself.

And preventing small ships from fleeing for 1000KM? That is bigger than the grid, which is the constituent piece of "reality" as far as the server is concerned. Just imagine you are minding your own business and don't even realize you are within 1000KM of this monstrosity and you can't warp away...but wait, you just want to prevent "fleeing" but what does that mean? What if I want to warp TO the big stupid ship and attack it? Then I should be able to warp right? But what if I just warp in line with it, but it is not my destination?

You see how this breaks down?

Also, this is the worst idea I have ever seem posted. Not only have you never been DD'ed back in the old days of the "i WIN!" button, but you don't seem to have ever been in a capital ship fight either. You don't use standard Eve terms like "warping off grid" and instead use things like "prevent fleeing"

So, this idea is bad and you should feel bad.
