Why does the ships on the newest Eon cover have icing?

I vaguely remember this being talked about as additional ship effects but im not sure if this is what they meant or thats me confusing my ideas with thiers.

From the looks of the picture it actually looks like chunks of ice stuck to the hull of a standard Carthum skinned palladin.
