I want to get into exploration.
I have palyed Eve on an off for many years and only now I want to try it :)

I have a second account so I can do sites in pairs.

I have done 1 so far in a couple of Drakes, but I keep reading about bonused ships.
Whch ships from Cruiser the Battle Cruiser would be better for me to use?

As for Skills I think that I need for such a career, I have Sensor Linking, Signal Dispersion, Signature Analysis, Survey, Salvaging, Archeology, Astrometric aquisition, Astrometric Pinpointing, Astrometric Range Finding, Astrometrics, hacking to name but a few all at lvl 5 on both CH's

I've mainly done m,issions, mining and a bit of nnja ratting/mining in 0.0

P.S. I only fly Caldari boats.

A bonused ship for Caldari would be the Heron, the Buzzard, and if built right the Tengu. You're getting a bonus to scan strength with the relevant ship skill. Also, for the Heron and Buzzard at least you can install scanning rigs. this will give you about 50% more scan strength total than putting a launcher on a regular combat ship.

One ship scanning and one raiding the site might end up faster. Or if you're often doing harder sites, you might want to stick with both characters in combat vessels. In that case I'd definitely look at scanning Tengu builds.

I'd add cloaking IV. Yeah you don't have much of a selection of ships here, mainly two, and one is being nerfed on the alter of pvp so that it's not worth the cost imo. CCP needs to get off it's collective butts and produce a normal cruiser for the profession, maybe a blackbird variation. But anyway, the buzzard is nice, imo carry around some multispectral and racial jammers in the hold + mwd. The T3 is good for it right now, but it's future is questionable, depends on what they wind up doing.

Personally I'd train one character up as the scanning + codebreaker + Salvager + Analyser alt and put him in a Buzzard and fit a cloaking device. The character can then scan down the sites, complete the profession sites and act as a scout.

Then I'd have a second character to complete the combat based sites. Train for a Hawk for those sites that only allow Frigate & Destroyer hulls and then train for a larger ship for the rest. A Drake with heavy missiles is a good starting point and then train up for a Tengu.

Keep in mind that ships and weapons are changed from time to time, so what works well now may not in the future.

You may even want a 3rd account that can fly an Orca. You can then use that to transport around your ships and the loot you get from exploration. It's not uncommon for me to be flying a Buzzard, Tengu & Orca (with a 'Hawk', 'Drake for low sec' & 'destroyer fitted with tractor beams+salvagers' in the ship maintenance bay).

Don't use a Tengu, once the incoming missile nerfs go live, the Tengu will be much less powerful as an end-all-be-all PvE pwnBoat

FC, what do?
