Passive Drone Repair When Recalled

Have drones passively repair their Armor and Structure while in a ships Drone bay.

It stands to reason with ships of this size they probably have the room for a small automated repair bay for drones. You could even tie it in with a skill something like..

Drone Repair (x3)
"Allows automated Drone Repair when docked in a ships drone bay. .5% repair to drone Shields, Armor and Hull per second per level 2.5% at max level"

I don't see this as being too overpowered as it would take 40 seconds to repair the drones HP at max level. It would just be a little something to make life easier while ratting, missioning and even PvPing to a certain degree.

EDIT: Removed the idea for a module, this should be something that just any ship can do when piloted with the skill.

Drones use to instant shield regenerate when returned to the drone bay, it was removed for being exploited they now regenerate shields normally. This idea too would be exploited, by having multuple sets of drones, you could deploy one set wait till it is almost trashed, return them deploy next set, rinse and repeat.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

How exactly could you "exploit" a 40 second repair time at max level? You can already have multiple sets of drones and instead of recalling them you let one set get blown up and launch another. This is just an idea to "save" drones on long trips without having to return to a station since sometimes the nearest station is 10 jumps away in Null.

If drones are that big of a deal that having then repair themselves over time will be a game breaking issue then you should probably be popping them as they're on their way to the host ship. I'm pretty sure you could take down 5 drones in 40 seconds.

I kinda like this, especially with the new AI changes. It will be quite irritating to have to micromanage drones in missions now.

I kinda like this idea, especially with the expected AI changes and the idea that a skill is needed to make it work in the first place.

However, I think 40 seconds at Automated Drone Repair V is way too quick. Something like 5 or 10 minutes would be more to my liking, it would still serve its purpose while at the same time making sure it does not become a combat feature.

When the Automated Drone Repair time is long (several minutes) it would open up the possibility for ship bonusses; I think a Dominix for example is a prime candidate for a bonussed automated drone repair system.

Yeah, I too like this idea, the thought that the drone bay has repair capabilities would seem logical, maybe skill based of course. As I said in another drone related post, I tend to separate out damage drones to a "DAMAGED" group to assist. It would also help worm hole residents and save them remote repping their drones :P
