As he reached to press the lock thread button a chain of events occurred. Basically, locking the thread would have led to the death of someone a shinigami vowed to protect. We all know what happened next.

Are you sure that was the case? Could very well be that by pressing the button, he would unleash a chain of events that would bring about the end of EVE as we know it...and CCP intervened through divine judgement and a temporal rift.

Didn't know there was a lockpicking skill in eve , awsome gonna train it to lvl 5 now
