Unfortunately the majority of the feedback here goes toward the acceptance of these scams because they fit in the game's universe. I can see why you see that. We have traders, miners, fighters, explorers, manufacturers, pirates and, well, scammers.

Unfortunately the latter has total impunity over their actions. You can't kill him. He'll stay docked. He'll continue to spam. And some sucker will eventually fall for its tricks. They can't be stopped. They win.

So the question is, why should they get away with it? Maybe if you're into doing bad stuff in the game you'll enjoy it, but the other ones who strive for security, balance and justice can't do nothing about it. I vote for a change on that! Give us the tools to get back at them!

The golden rule of any scammer is to achieve a situation where the Rupert thinks that he's smarter than the scammer.

So every time that you find a deal that seems either to good to be true or that you've have found a way to outsmart a scammer, you're most likely a prime target.

Unless of course that you are sure that you are much smarter than the scammer that are out to get your isk.

If that happens to be the case then I've got a barely used bridge in NY City that I have to sell fast and cheap.


Scams in EvE isn't a problem and they have never been.

Connect brain before clicking accept and don't think that you are smarter than someone else until you have the isk in your hand.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Got it, but what about filters? Of course they will try harder, but it's some succes already, make it harder. :-)

And there was other option, when in trade hub (for people > 300, high sec only), make people pay to use local channel, you take valuable place in this chat!

Custom ship skins, character creator style "repaint". Bring it!

Never fallen for a scam myself, but have scammed many a pilot with the faction mod contract scam, and all I can say is that if you use that thing behind your forehead you won't get scammed. Pretty simple

Interesting. I though it only works "against" people who buy several plex at once (and thus have that plex they are supposed to pay accordingly to the contract). But it's not like EVE doesn't check if you have requested items when contract is accepted, so if it indeed works this way, it's strange and smells like intended (if lame) design.

Still, reading your contract works fine.

i'm not 100% sure about if it works, but I am pretty sure it does.

you are right, it is in the contract, and it is easy to avoid, but it's still bad design in a way.

turns out that "975000 Mexallon for 55 isk/unit" was actually 97500 Mexallon for 550 isk/unit

It's a numbers game baby. If X% of people will fall for the scam than what you make is simply a function of how many people you can put your scam in front of. Keep it simple. That's it.
