I was playing around in Pyfa and came up with the following fit for use in 0.0 BR anomalies:

High:
5x [named] Siege Missile Launcher, CN Mjolnir Torpedoes
2x [named] Heavy Nos
1x empty

Mid:
1x Experimental 100MN Afterburner
1x [named] Target painter
1x X5 prototype engine enervator
1x Cap recharger II

Low:
1x Large Armor Rep II
2x Energized Thermic Membrane
1x Energized EM Membrane
3x Ballistic Control Unit II

Rigs:
3x CCC

Drones:
5x Hammerhead II
5x Ogre I

Stats were something like:
~750 DPS with drones
76/75 EM/Therm resists
34k Armor EHP
46% cap stable with everything on + Nos
95% stable with just Rep + Nos

Was planning to use it in forsaken hubs, where I can just drop drones on the cruisers and use torps on the BS. The Nos should help keep my cap alive vs neuting.
It has no guns fit because projectiles have suboptimal ammo for Bloods.

Thoughts on this? I'm new to BR ratting so I'm not entirely sure what to expect.

Never flown a typhoon but with torps its a close range ship so I would say the tank is too light.

I ratted up there (before you kicked us out :-) ) with 4 hardeners and 1 repper but I sat still at 50km so lots of ships died before getting into range to do damage to me.

As it's a close range ship you are going to get neuted. There is a wave or 2 of neuters in Forsakens.

Also there are lots of long range ships (at least one in every wave). So you can catch one but whilst you are killing him the others are flying 50km away so you will be playing catch up with an Afterburner.

Not sure about Nos mechanics on rats so can't comment. Do they work in the same way as on players?

Sentries are a must, the Ogres wont cut the mustard. I would go cruise instead of torp also.

internet spaceships

are serious business sir.

and don't forget it

My reasoning on the torps/ogres was that since Forsaken Hubs have predictable and clustered spawns, I'd be able to sit ad 0 in the spawn cloud and take advantage of the torp's short range as well as not having to worry so much about the travel time on the Ogres.
I'm sure sentries do more damage, but I worry about their tracking ability while right in the thick of things.

I did end up testing the fit out, albeit on some Serpentis rats (with appropriate hardeners).
My torp skills are pretty good because I also fly bombers, yet I found the damage utterly terrible. Although cruise have a lower on-paper DPS, are they better able to actually apply it because of rigor/flare rigs?

The problem is not so much cruise do more damage from rigs. The problem is torps do very bad damage to anything smaller than a BS. And have very bad range. Even against BS rats T2 fury cruise with flare and rigor rigs your applied damage is as good a torps. plus you get the range, plus you do much more damage to smaller targets.

On a typhoon with 5 T2 cruise, 5 T2 sentry, and 3 T2 800mm autocannons(or 1200mm T2 arttys if you can fit them) you can pop anything at range long before they get to you. T2 sentries insta pop frigates at range, target them first. then the cruisers. By the time the BS get into optimal they will be all that is left. Keep a flight of light drones on hand just in case a few frigs get through, other than that your applied DPS is incredible. If you got all the skills to back it up. The Typhoon is an amazing ship, but you need the skills in all three weapon systems for it to really shine. If you are running cruise launchers only you are wasting slots, and are better of in a Raven.

Torp mission boats look great on paper but the applied DPS sucks unless you are up against nothing but BS and structures. I have heard of Scorpion Navy Issue torp boats being really good but my experience with torps is that they are not near as good as they sound. They would be worth it if a torp with its huge explosion radius could take out multiple frigs in one shot, but it does not seem the game mechanics allow for that.
