Hi

Can anyone suggest a good fit to Tank lvl5s please .... ( thinking passive shields )

Thought a Tengu would be good as it has a relatively smallish signature , even with rigs for passive shield.

I also considered a command ship but its slower to maneuver and can not shoot from as long a distance as the Tengu.

And did consider a rattlesnake but Iam sure it would be scanned down too quickly.

Finally did wonder about a Ishtar but have not used a drone boat in ages , though it might work.

I will be flying with two buddies who will be doing most of the DPS'ing , so this is primarily a tank boat.

Thanks for any suggestions.

tell your buddies to fit a shield transporter and rep your ass, i don't think you can get 1000 dps tank with a passive tengu.

No idea what's needed to tank lvl 5s (I don't do them) but you can easily get ~2000 Guristas tank from a passive Tengu.

It all depends on missions. There are some without neuts that are easy to do then you have a few which are nightmarish. If Youre flying with buddies then as stated above its a simple case of resist fitting with a bit of buffer. fit in, take aggro and get your buddies to rep you.

When i had my time with L5's i used an active Tank 100mn Tengu and stayd out of Web/Neut range.
Tengu is fast enough and has a good locking range, so it worked quite well. Shoot Web and Neuts first (except triggers).
Additional advantage: You move a lot, so incoming foes who scanned you out (if you forgotten to d-scan) might come in out of point range
