I always thought it would be cool if they resticted the number of titans on a specific grid. The idea of 14 kilometer ships stacked on each other seems odd.

Is it me or does anyone else also think that Titans being able to instant one shot kill regular capitals seem cheap?

As I'm watching the ongoing grind in nullsec and the impact of numbers on the Sov game (not the individual battles) I wonder if people think CCP will revisit the Titan issue. It seems that as soon as the Titan tracking nerf went through the counter argument for keeping them able to act as a guard against blobs became valid. Has the numbers game reached a tipping point, especially with more and more veteran players jumping onto the winning side? Do people think the Titan should be buffed?

Actually we're seeing better fights between nullsec entities than the previous two years combined.

It's really ironic, isn't it. We set out to shoot structures, but then ^___^

Titans were broken as hell before, they definitely do not need a buff.

I'd also like to point out that numbers win wars in real life too. Advanced weapons only magnify what an army can do, they don't win battles for you. You will never see 500 defeat 5000 if both sides are committed.

Oh, and FYI, the Spartans lost at Thermopylae.

Risk free PvP wins wars now...not numbers....
Without PL holding your hand, your 1000 screaming noobs would probably be back in highsec....Cool

We don't usually have 1000 newbies, that would be really massive actually. It would make four full fleets of nothing but rifters (old school newbie ship_ and slashers (I think the new ones).

It sure is. It could use a couple more whacks with the nerf bat.

In what ways?

Controversial ways, of course.

The problem is, if you buff the Titan (or any other ship for that matter) to give the little guy a chance against the blob... the only result is that the blob fields more of them than you do.

That's not really a result. The blob is already fielding more of anything than the little guy, the bigger and more expensive, the more slanted the advantage is.

Obviously what we really need is remote AOE doomsdays again. That's how the little guy will fight the blob!

Yeah, speaking of which I should look into getting a titan ... to help fight big blobs, of course. Blobs of structures, eh?

In light of this topic, I support the creation of Tier 3 dreads. They're as agile as a battleship, but they can fit DDs.

More and more I am beginning to believe that the only way to provide a counter to being severely outnumbered (all other factors being equal) is going to have to come from a game mechanic stand point, not the addition of more varieties of ships and specialized weapons... as inevitably the blob ends up with those self same ships and weapons as well.

However, I inherently dislike the idea of limitations of any sort being implemented on the number of ships that can be fielded on a grid, as that can be exploited again in the blobs favor.

Titan BLOBS need a nerf. Titans individually need a buff because right now it's stupid that a 100b ISK ship can't defend itself from 5 frigates.

If 5 frigates bring down a titan they damn well deserve the KM and automatically win at EVE.

Yeah, first you blobbed Raiden. Then you blobbed nulli (because TEST only outnumbered them 10:1). Then you blobbed AAA. Then you blobbed NCDot. Only issue now... who do you blob next? Turning on your smaller pets would send a bad message, so I suggest you go straight for the HBC. Kill them while they're small and are no threat to you.

This just highlights the need for a blob counter for the little guy. Ideally smartbombing tracking AEO titans with mechanics that prevent them being blobbed in groups larger than 3-4. I'm sure we'd all like to see a few daily titan killmails.
