Is he still drawing on chalk boards pointing conspiracy stories to everything obama? Something about neo fascist, Nazi muslim, socialist anti christian rants, and cherry picking founding father quotes out of context, and being a chicken hawk?

You know when fox news fires/lets you go people are sick of your ****.

Edit: No need for that! - ISD Suvetar

Glenn Beck is a highly popular radio/TV host who is on the forefront of discussion of relevant national and cultural issues.

Its the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.

Feel free to browse the site, though I warn you, some strong positions are aired that would have the local ISD soiling their pink panties.

Um that website has some pretty right wing remarks in the comment section. Also Glen beck is a horrible person and a known political troll.

Except the little fact he has not organized simultanious attacks (and subsiquent murders) against two US embassys on the anniversary of 9/11 using the pretext of some obscure web flick, that was'nt even produced in arabic, as the front.

But lets not let the details get in the way of bashing someone with different ideologies in a situation like this huh?

you miss the point completely. not all zealots are responsible for wholesale destruction of property or lives. however they all espouse intolerance and demean those that do not hold the same beliefs. that is beck in a nutshell.

HAHAha you silly. Beck couldn't fit in a nutshell.

And as far as 'clown of the earth' goes, he'd probably agree with you. Beck often describes himself as the 'rodeo clown' of the media.

Glenn Beck is the guiding light of the modern world Straight

Glenn Beck is the reason why, at various GOP conventions on the caucus and county level, people old enough to fart dust waddled in and supported the candidates who want more war, more police state, and more big government.

I even had to tangle with a few who really beleive that WWIII MUST happen because the bible says so. Yes, these people exist, and they vote.

People whose world view is based on Beck are very much a part of the problem as those whose reality is based on what the (controlled) "oppositon" says.

I want those of you in Europe to know that there are some Americans who have a clue, and we tried to turn things around.

I don't think you understand, anything beck touches should be taken with a grain of salt. Beck is a conservative extremist. He has very radical and ignorant views on the world.

Meh, Beck has gotten rich playing the fool. It's no worse than actors thinking that their political opinions carry more weight due to their stardom.

Reuters has the story now also: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/09/12/us-usa-libya-smith-idUSBRE88B1F720120912

As far as Beck goes, most conservatives don't take him seriously either. He's a Vaudeville act.

Point is why do we care either of them say? Nothing said is ever fruitful wisdom. bags of hot air looking for attention. Neither really aid anything.

"It seems kind of trivial to praise a husband, father and overall badass for his skills in an Internet spaceship game but that's how most of us know him, so there you go," his friend and fellow Eve Online gamer Alex "The Mittani" Gianturco wrote in a tribute to Smith posted on his web site."

Anyone else kinda disgusted how this MIttani guy keeps getting mentioned in the news in relation to this? As if he was the only person that wrote anything about this...

I'm not sure if its so much what he says. Generally its just good clean radio fun on days that I'm driving between jobs in my pick'm up truck.

Its that he makes the right kinds of people mad.

You know, the people who are silly enough to trust the New York Times, NPR and the networks.

So you like him because he's a meta troll? Or just that the people you dont like dont like him? Rather odd cause I dont give a **** who likes or dislikes john Stewart, Adam corolla, or Joe Rogan. I wouldnt expect everyone to nor would I see why others would expect me to like their preferences.

It's common courtesy to cite your sources, and as mittens was the source his name is mentioned, the story has been picked up by several mainstream sites now in and out of the gaming world.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Nah,
Quote:

ser “The Mittani” wrote Wednesday that he had known Smith for more than six years and described him as a well-respected and heavily influential player in the role-playing space game “Eve Online.“ Mittani said he and Smith were friends ”both in real life and in internet spaceships.”

Just a friend eulogizing a friend.

Take a few deep, slow breaths and try to look at the positives for a bit. It does a body a world of good to occasionally leave the drama, cynicism, politics, etc. by the wayside for a bit.

No. It's pretty natural since his obit is probably the most detailed (and linked) piece on it from the community (and friend) angle so far. Of course he'll be quoted and used as a source.

Why would anyone be disgusted by that?

Yeah, I especially liked how he had the guts to point out the obvious racism entrenched in the current administration, during the height of its popularity in early 2009. It blew people's minds.

Lots of people believe it, he had the guts to say it on the air. While I listened on and off to the guy since 2003, I gained a lot of respect for him since the last election. He isn't just talking on the radio - hes actively doing everything in his power to end the....worst ....presidency....EVAR. And with a fairly large audience and media crosssection - he can change quite a few minds, and do quite a bit of good for the USA.

Can't the politics take a back seat for this one, eh?

Try to separate the game from real life for a minute. The guy published a eulogy of a good friend for everyone to see and someone pointed the greater media in that direction. It's common practice for media to look to friends and family to fill in the blanks about the men behind the numbers. I for one think it's nice that they went out of their way to find stuff like this out.

Any implication that there's some ego driven hidden agenda is pretty damn ridiculous. Give it a break.
