Do Single Account Cap Pilots Exist?

I really want to know, are there capital ship pilots with one account? No cyno alt? What about super cap pilots? Anyone stuck in their super with their only account?

Something I've always wanted to do at some point in my EVE career is fly a carrier (hence spending time time to train Caldari Carrier V, Fighters V, and Fighter Bombers because why not at this point). However I've never really been able to do that, because despite putting the time in and learning the basics (regarding carriers) via reading and sisi, I lack a secondary account. Whether it's for logistics (including cyno, no one wants to be there to move your ass whenever you decide you want to move), or for some subcap fun (assuming main is stuck in a super, and you just have to keep your training going lol).

Now, I don't really expect to find anyone who flies caps and has a single account, but I hope to. On the off chance there are any of you out there, I'd love to know how you pull it off so that maybe I can as well. Big smile

In the event that I don't find any cap pilots with a single account, I would instead like to ask; is it wrong for CCP to make a game where an alt account is necessary?

I understand that EVE is multiplayer, but I don't think anyone is going to argue that some 'multiplayer' aspects of EVE hardly seem realistic. As previously stated, no one is going to cyno you around whenever you feel like moving.

Discuss.

I know of a few single account cap pilots. And while I don't know of any single account Super pilots, having a Super on your single account doesn't necessarily mean you're stuck in it (each account has 3 character slots, after all).

Oh, and an alt account isn't necessary for a Cap pilot. Friends are necessary for a Cap pilot.

Everything you say is true. I think a lot of it depends on your expectations: I wanted to fly a cap in my career for a while as well, but I'm a solo pilot mostly, so I decided that didn't fit my playstyle. Looking at them is fun too. I have better things to spend skill points on at my stage.

I don't think an alt account is 'neccesary'. I think you are a little biased to see it that way. What's necessary is having a group of friends to play with, and that suits the concept of the cap ship very well; the top tier ship of corporation of a certain size.

What's 'wrong' is people playing more than one account to enable them to fly those ships. Not that I begrudge them that, but the best decision I ever made, in terms of my immersion, and in terms of quality use of my playtime, was throwing away my alt accounts.

Eve is about the journey.  If you are so focused on making money, that you insist on having the tools to make it be made as autonomous and easy as possible, then you are never going to have as much fun as I will.

And to think all this time I've been having corp members fly out somewhere and light a cyno for me... I guess I've been doing it wrong. Or maybe I've discovered a new exploit?

I know quite a few single account cap pilots, but no single account supercap pilots.

Flying a capital with a single account is viable if you're only using one for fleet ops, but beyond that, having a second account or very trustworthy friends is basically a requirement.

Depending on other people to light your cynos and scout for you, invariably leads to a Capless pilot........Oops

Good point. There's actually only one person in this entire game (that's not myself) who I trust to light them.

if you can afford to buy and lose cap ships you usually can afford a plex a month, which is why I don't think there are too many cap pilots with just 1 account because of that reason.

I don't think I'd trust anyone else with cyno'ing my non-existent capital ship around.

Unless maybe they were in the same room. Maybe.

I can fly capitals and I only have 1 account Cool

It's that whole multiplayer aspect of the game that people seem to forget about

This. After transferring my alt to my main account I have no ability to cyno my carrier. Now I NEED my friends more than ever.

Best way to find excellent Bros is by being an excellent Bro.
