Navy Cap Boost Charges

400s V 200s

Which is better?

This is a call to all experienced frigate pilots (which I am not, but would like to become). Please teach me which you would rather use, and why. I would appreciate it enormously. Thanks in advance :)

“Better” depends on your needs and use cases. Do you need lots of cap in small bursts or a little cap in longer bursts, because that's pretty much what you're choosing between.

As Tippia said it kinda depends on your situation which is "better". If you're using the new Ancillary Shield boosters, then the smallest cap charges that you can fit are best, since that equates to more reps. For a regular cap booster is where things get a little tricky.

If you're under 0 neuting pressure then generally the bigger the better, unless you can fit charges so large they give you more than double the cap than your ship can hold, therefore "wasting" some of the cap charge.

If you're under moderate neuting pressure, enough that it skimming cap but your charges are able to keep you above peak recharge, then the larger the better to sustain.

If you're under severe neuting pressure and your cap is getting alphad out of your ship then smaller charges may be better since you won't be able to use all the cap you're getting as it's getting neuted away after the first cycle. This would allowing you to bleed cap into your system over more cycles before reloading.

Overall the best bet is to fit the biggest you can as it works well for most situations, and still works in subpar conditions.
