I think this game would benefit from the input of a ship the size of an orca that could pop out frigates and destroyers in random places, aka - take ore, refine it, and build ships.

Having a ship like this on the field would lower the isk to risk ratio of industrial construction in low/null sec for small gangs. As it stands, to move into space other then high-sec you have to be able to front a med/large pos and be able to operate/ sacrifice a capital fleet (or buy help).

Just an idea from a fanatic industrialist, and besides it'd be really cool!

That said, you could make a tech 2 varienty of the ship and allow it to jump covertly... but even i can see that breaking current game mechanics and having to large an impact on current field tactics

This reminds me of a unit from SUP COM that was a mobile factory/tank. One or two behind your army and you had a constant supply of cannon fodder. Interesting to see how it would effect the eve verse. Would make it so some corps could be more nomadic in nature. Altough it seems a bit too all in one.

what's wrong with setting up a small pos?

I should buy an Ishtar.

You have to commit to pos' once their up and a small pos under capital attack is just silly
