It is never good enough

Seriously... Take a moment to step back and smell the roses. The life span of most serious players of an MMO is usually in years. When it comes to eve this is especially true. I can understand those who are upset because it affects them. What I can not understand is the people who complain when the change doesn't effect them or does so very little.

As a community we have come to a point where we have cried wolf to many times. This can already be seen where a bunch of goons on the CSM make decisions for us. Squelching out the opinions of the other CSM members in their own specialties. "wormholes being a prime example of this." So the next time you go to complain about something, do so with less tears and more reason. No one, not even CCP, cares to hear, wah that feature you spent a fortune on is stupid. Followed by I hate you! "but take my money for subscription time." Also the I buy plex with ISK excuse is about as hipster as not buying CD's from bands that have a record deal. While your parents pay for your apartment and file you under their taxes...

Steps to being a productive member of the forums.
1. Troll, so people will gain amusement from the misfortune of others. "at least try and use wit."
2. Give feedback that is both intelligible and helpful to the Original Posters Topic of conversation.
3. Show some respect to the people who keep the lights on. Even though you don't agree with every choice they make, they at least are not commenting on your neck beard either.
4. Wait until gold ammo is introduced before shutting down a major trade hub while trying to blow up a doodad in a game about internet spaceships.
5. Realize that a forum is a place to discuss features, ideas, and share stories. A forum is not Santa's wish list, where every red bicycle you want is a reason to nag.

TL;DR I am sorta tired of people having the same complaints about issues that are being looked at or even fixed. I feel this is on-topic to EVE in general. The only thing I have declaimed in this thread are hipsters and neck beards. So I really hope this doesn't get locked. If it does... Well thanks for reading this far anyways.

The fear is that, once it is introduced, it's too late to complain/whine/riot.

Did I detect a note of negativity toward the Goons in your posting??
I think I did, so I feel compelled to point out that you are not allowed to do that per the Goon controlled forum monitor's rules.
You might want to edit it to reflect a more positive outlook.

Just trying to be helpful.

Indeed. CCP has been disturbingly stubborn about bad decisions until it indisputably costs them money to not pay attention to community complaints and criticisms.

It's worth considering just how bad things got before CCP delivered the devblog 180 from Hilmar and Zulu.

Given that CCP is funding the development of two more games and over 400 staff around the world while pulling on maybe 5 million dollars a month and let it come this far, it's obvious that they don't care what we have to say unless they can't afford to ignore the message.

Forums are a place shared by people who wish to have their ideas and concerns heard, and by people who are bored and have nothing else to do.

Sadly, the latter group is bigger than the former. And ironically, the latter will only have non-boring things to do in-game if they let the former group speak without drowing them with useless posts.

The world is a community of idiots doing a series of things until it explodes and we all die.

Being constructive or even to come up with one's own opinion isn't as easy as howling with the wolves or as entertaining as posting nonsense.

But I agree with your post. It is never good enough, while there are tons of MMOs out there so much worse than EVE. I never got bored in EVE. It takes some creativity to get the full vibes out of this game though. Its a sandbox after all.

You only see whiners on this forum because the people that actually still like this game are probably playing it and don't bother to even look at the cry-fest that this forum has become. I just come here so now and then to be helpful for others and troll the complain threads. Gotta do something when I can't be ingame Roll

Barely anyone is complaining, forums have never been this quiet. Everyone is excitedly waiting for the new direction with hope and quiet skepticism.

I guess that makes you the guy who stands in Shopping Mall the day after the protest yelling at shoppers to calm down.

Stop yelling in our ears we are trying to buy new clothes here.

These days I honestly think it's more like:
Life imitates art.
At least life tries. Fails horribly mostly.

That sounds like the majority of EvE users ;)

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

pretty much. The reason youll never see this game again without MTs are the what 52 monocles sold in 40 hours? Once the genie is out of the bottle, it cant be put back in.

Hilmar sed it best (an he's gotta hate these words by now):
Quote:
Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change.
