I've actually thought about setting up some PI sites myself, so what if it's apparently not as profitable in highsec as it once was it still looks fun.

Come to think of it, for those who want to nerf highsec maybe the planetary interaction tax hike in highsec, and apparently how that caused lots of people to stop doing it, should serve as an example of just how easy it is to spoil highsec content with nerfs. Than again I suspect for certain people that's sort of the point...

Well, since High Sec PI is booming, most planets in Low Sec have POCO's, and Null seems to be using them as well... I'd say the point being made is that for all of the wailing and gnashing of teeth in reality nothing was ruined. In fact, Low Sec got quite a bit more traffic out of it without significantly affecting High Sec PI.

Primae

it's a great looking ship, but it's useless, no one will ever use one for it's intended purpose.

since we have revamped the barges, why not revamp this as well?

increase the size of the commodity hold up to 60-100K for more practical large scale PI use, a t1 industrial has more cargo capacity at lvl 1 skills, making it the clear winner when choosing between PI ships.

Having an increased PI commodity cargohold would have this ship making a comeback and it's just a great looking ship.

as it is now it's completely useless.

unless CCP designs an entirely new ship for Planetary interaction, this ship will continue to remain on the shelves collecting dust in eve, and i don't want to see this.

it would also be a great option for new PI Industrialists with the larger cargo capacity, making it the clear choice of something to work towards when doing PI.

I'd really like to see this ship revamped or a new design for the Primae, i think CCP should look into this.

looking forward to thoughts on this subject

So...where do you do your PI? Please be specific (which system and planet, and what time you do pick ups). It for uh...research. Yea.

Can't you just use an industrial ship?
Just seems like a PI only ship would be a waste of development time where there is so many other things worth working on over that.

Hardly much development time needed just to alter one of it's attributes.

I think i miss the point but why do you need a "ship for planet interaction for" only for storage or what? if thats the case pick a industrial or freighter. So its great to have some sort op ships but i dont see the benefit from it.

This topic needs some focus on blockade running instead of cargo-hold optimalisation. Whats wrong with an industrial fitted for survivability?

Update heads every few days. Haul a load into a trade center every couple of weeks. PI is a no brainer. Why not do it.

Tbh Id have to agree with the OP on this one. Its a useless ship even for newbies. As tbh most newbies arent going to know what to do nor wish to train the skills JUST to do PI early on. And even if they do the primae is just useless even in that role. A 14 or 21 day trial account and they wish to do PI? No not really.

But for active accounts and that DUST is coming out soon I could see a new role for it. Not just a larger PI only cargohold but also perhaps some useful skill trait to help out or move DUST players around. Maybe scouting or added bonuses to bombardment or accuracy. Being able to see more of what the colonies planetside consist of. Or being able to go into deployed mode, like the rorqual, using a fuel of some sort to aid defenses or attack values in relation to bombardment. Better scanning while in the ship itself, more harvesting per cycle if the job is installed with the ship in space, uncloaked, in a deployed mode of a few minutes while in range of the POCO? Making it both vulnerable for a time period while gaining the increased rewards.

Really theres a LOT of nifty things you could use it for other than just a hangar queen. And seeing as its a one time GIFT ship its limited isnt it? But theres a crapton out there still. Which would mean that having it "killed" would raise the value of those surviving given some decent really USEFUL roles if its forced into a combat scenario which in turn would raise its value in attack or defense as its numbers diminish.

Just... thoughts.... nothing special.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Please refer to the official evelopedia guide to fitting the Primae, as written by Nicolo da'Vicenza

Quote:

The Primae also has 4 low-power module slots, allowing for industrial equipment to be fitted. This might sound nearly nothing since industrials tend to carry much greater capacities of any kind of items. However, the Primae can be used by anyone because it doesn't require any skill to be flown (and therefore should be useful to new players inexplicably unwilling to train a racial industrial to level I within a half hour of character generation).

From 60 planets?

Assuming 5 planets per toon (its been ages since I did PI, someone correct me if its more than 5 per toon), and assuming you train all 3 toons on each account that means you must have a minimum of... 5 accounts.

Assuming you buy PLEX for each of these accounts @ 400mil a plex (that's cheap) that means per month it costs you....2 billion isk per month.

2 billion - 2 billion = 0 billion.

Hey I can spend 2 hours a month earning nothing too!

He earned the ability to spend the rest of his time during the month to be subscribed for free.

The only thing I like about PLEX is it enables players who, if they work (or scam lol) hard for it, they can play the game for free. I think that is pretty sick. Cool

@OP/Primae
It would be nice to see. (Sorry for backseat mod) However, unless this thread gets moved, you're better off posting in the Idea section. Expect trolling though. I'd love to see the Primae with a functionality for PI commodities too. Kind of like what we see with Mining Barges' Retriever. A VERY big tummy for a the job - rather than it just being a gimmick with lousy stats.

It's a free ship intended to allow trial people and other people who never trained Industrial 1 to try out the new Dominion Jesus feature.

I heard there was a ship called the "Primae" designed for that purpose. Don't know if any still exist aside from the four I have safely docked in a station (actually in 4 different stations). You can use that if you have one. Or there's an Iteron Mark V/Badger Mark II/Cloaky-Transport, whichever suits your greedy needs the most.
