When you jump through a gate, you're not moving at all, so you're ship needs to first align, and then accelerate to atleast 75% speed wich takes time.

The bold part is wrong. When your ship is at 0 speed, you don't need to align. Remember, as far as the game is concerned, your ship is a sphere, and will accelerate in any direction regardless of which way your ship appears to be pointed just as quickly (provided you have no speed). While it appears your ship needs to turn, this is merely a cosmetic issue.

Ahhh OK that makes sense. Although it makes "Align To" a bit of a misnomer in the UI.

I'm willing to bet lots of newbie pilots like me think that you need your ship pointed at something and somehow you have an advantage by aligning ahead of time, when really clearly it's speed that is the issue.

So if you come through a gate in a "slow boat" (industrial, miner, etc) you're pretty much screwed unless you have a cloaky ship (blockade runners) or.. well... friends. That is to say:

Fixed the bold part:

"Low Sec is dangerous. Don't go alone unless you agree to the risk of loosing your ship."

Heed well that pop-up warning you get when entering lowsec.

It's one of the pop-ups you may not want to disable. [or want to re-enable]
