Without this turning into a classic EVE is dieing thread, I would like to ask if subscriptions have been down. Each time I log in I am seeing people online in the lower 30's and as of this moment only 28K. When I was active about a year ago I seem to recall allot higher numbers on tranquility.

That would have been pre Incarna but the numbers are better now than they were.

Alternatively...

I am noticing allot more people online everyday on singularity. The old cap seemed to be around 200, two days ago there was 2,000. I don't know, nor do I care whether or not there was a mass test this weekend. But at this exact moment singularity is registering 2031 online. This seems like a big change to me. Can anyone confirm of deny this?

The 2000+ is dust players on SiSi as well as the eve people.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

The bot population is certainly up, can't speak to the human population. What?

I've been seeing around 20k logged on when I do, a significant drop from when I used to play in '07 the numbers were nearly 50k. 60k logged on during Alliance Tournaments.

Oh man what a bullshit, EVE had far less players in 2007 than they do now. Back in '07 we were at maybe 25k

The graph at the bottom on http://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquility quite clearly shows a downward slide since a peak at Jan 2011.

Can it recover ? Not sure at this point.

Past months EVE had hardly 40k users EUTZ at night. Last week i saw 45k+ users logging on same time. last winter i saw many times going above 50k. We ll see this winter. If it will be reaching 50k we are fine.

Aside from various Summer Of Rages, that graph looks pretty reasonable. You have to consider a few things:
- They're auto banning bots now.
- The slide stopped in Nov 2011 (as it does every year)
- Year over year we're actually doing better than last year (this isn't hard - lolmonaclegate)

No, it did not stop, nor HAS not stopped.

Don't tell me you are going to ARGUE over legitimate statistics.

It did reached another small peak in April during the post-FanFest Debacle, but has been on an obvious slide again.

The number of 4 and 5 year players I know that have quit over the past few months has been saddening.
