Why are NEX clothes gender limited?

So, I still have the 5,500 AUR that was given for free by CCP following the release of the NEX store. Tonight I was bored, so decided to browse the store and see if there is anything I would like to spend it on. However, none of the "male" clothing really jumped out at me, but I did think the 'Structure" Skirt (camouflage) was rather appealing. To my dismay, I noticed it is female only.

Why aren't we allowed to wear whatever we want in New Eden? I, for one, think I would look positively striking in a skirt. Thoughts?

Because your not good enough, or not mature enough, so you are gender limited.

That is a bit of a weird one actually, having gender limited clothes is not very open minded.

Especially considering a huge amount of this game is guys playing girls.

MMORPG=Many Men Online Role Playing Girls.

Possibly just a technical body-model issue, nothing sexist here.

It's a technical limitation, as male and female avatars are shaped differently, they'd have to redo the design of the skirt to fit a man.

Some clothes still have clipping issues with animations in character customiser, and in captains quarters. These are default clothes from when this whole thing was introduced. This does not really inspire confidence in the idea of unisex clothing.

That said, I do not really see why some items, such as "Quafe" T-shirts, cannot be a single item, that has a different model, depending on if it is being worn by a male or female character.

Other games have different models for the same item, e.g. in Skyrim, you can take a suit of plate armour (which has sculpted breasts on it), from a female character, and put it on a male character, and magically, the armour fits. And vice versa. Taking armour from a male character, put it on a female character, suddenly, it is hammered into shape.

... and that's how they came to be called "knockers."

Because having to re-render all clothing options to be unisex, so a handful of people can play drag, is a waste of time.

To be fair though, KILTS are the epitome of manliness.

Not SKIRTS.

KILTS.

A space-age kilt with neon lights and stuff on it would be fab-, I mean, awesome.

Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

If people are so desperate to cross dress, why not just make a mannish female character?

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
