Will someone tell me all the ways to increase my chances of getting some kind of faction or officer drop ratting in belts?

I have literally ratted for 12 hours straight today with dual ratting 1000dps machs tearing thru the belts and the best I've found was two hauler drops. I used the chaining method too. I was in a -.9 nullsec space too.

There have got to be other ways to gain a better chance of getting an officer drop. I use to rat extremely often in the past and I still have never seen a single faction or officer drop in a belt ever in my life.

Also note I'm the ONLY person in the system this whole 12 hour period.

If they were common they would not be expensive.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

I like to wear my Helmet of Glorious BS when I try to get officer drops.
Adds a +50% chance to find officer drops from high sec rats
Asteroids have a 70% chance to explode when depleted causing the rest of the belt to turn into officer mods.

Each spawn has a % chance of being faction or officer. Chaining doesn't cause new spawns.

Also has anyone ever seen a faction or officer drop in a sanctum or haven?

After the BS size kill, ram the wreck and right when you hit it, disconnect your modem. Then wait 2 minutes, relog and loot the wreck. Never fails.

I was chain ratting for the past week or so before I finally got an officer spawn. It only dropped about 500m worth of loot.
It was a ***** to kill too, took 3 Tengus to do it, one of which was HAM fitted.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

As far as i've been playing, chaining was to increase normal npc spawn or sometimes faction ones. You get officer only if you kill all rats completely.

Faction rats do appear in anoms. In my personal observation, faction rats in an anom is a bad thing since they delay your chaces of getting a 10/10 which pays much better (MY OWN Observation).

Officers are always ini belt.

12 hours? You could rat for 12 months and never see one.

Then again, one may appear after 12 minutes.

Escalations are what you want when running anoms (sanctums will murder shield gank machs, no clue about havens, just do forsaken hubs)

NPC home regions are said to have a higher chance of officer spawns than other regions as all systems in these regions are treated as -1.0 regardless of actual truesec - e.g. you are more likely to encounter a Sansha officer in Stain than you are in Catch or Providence.

It is also theorized that within those regions spawn chances are especially high in the system or in close vicinity of the system that the officer is an agent in, e.g. you would be more likely to find Chelm in UF-KKH than in other systems.

When you chain, you kill the BS rats in a spawn and leave the frigate rats. Because the entire spawn was not killed, new rats warp in to replace the rats in the spawn that were. This means that you're killing the same spawn over and over for the highest bounty (BS) and a new spawn will never happen (because there are a limited number of active spawns in a system). An officer spawn is a new spawn.

I've done it a few times before when I've been completely burned out on PVP and had nothing better to do. Sure it's boring as ****, but it's isk, so whatever.
