who else accidently quotes their own post while trying to edit?

really, this forum layout seriously sucks, it is so unintuitive
can we have a normal forum for adults and not some cheesy little console kiddie pretend forum?

I've been perma banned from more forums than you lot even know exist.

yet I never had a problem with hitting quote and not edit...

perhaps its the orange, perhaps, just perhaps we don't need color coded post buttons, cos thats the only reason I can think of as to why I keep hitting the wrong button

When making a "Quick reply". I have pressed the orange Reply button at the bottom instead of the Post button. That can be annoying.

Of course, I often quote myself when replying to and quoting a post where I was quoted.

This preserves the logical flow of the conversation and avoids the need to scan back the topic
to understand what the heck we are talking about.

Damn five quote limit though, I'm accustomed to replying to every relevant line.

ok all i get from this is you lack the skills understand and follow forum rules, procedures, and guild lines. this makes a lot of sense when you cant be bothered to tell the difference between a button that says "edit" and one that says "quote"

i do remember the old forums having this funny issue with posting new threads instead of replying. looks like nothing has changed you just want to complain about something that is ultimately your mistake. be more careful and you will not run into this problem.

i have faith in you.

With this insight, I can say with confidence that your issue is a PEBKAC type.

If you took more time to read rules, labels, etc and were more careful with what and how you post, you might have better luck.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.
