Hi folks.

First I want to say that I really really love the EvE Soundtrack - yes I do.

It reminds me of the far deep cold space. The harsh Environment. Gas Giants, and the unforgiving nature of it all.

But after years of playing EvE I must say, the Jukebox could need some more tunes of exactly this style.

Why not dedicate the next update on the Music and and a complete sound overhaul? Maybe remix Gunsounds, Dockingsounds, stuff like that. Asmuch as I like them - they sound a little bit 2003-ish if you know what I mean ;)

It may sound foolish or needles to do sth. like that - but this aint true.

New sounds would refresh the whole experience! And I am not only talking about newcomers, but oldies too - although they wont believe me - Sound has a great impact of the whole master experience!

If the original guy isnt into music any more - that would be a shame. But anyway there are others which do the same kind of electronic - Space style Music I love:

EvE Gameplay with different music

I made a little VIdeo with random EVe Gameplay just in order to experience another style of music playing to the EvE World.

The Video is still being rendered by Youtube - you have to be a little patient.
The Mix I used is free - one can also download it here:
http://theasc.blogspot.de/p/deep-space-mix-series.html

Another example: I guess we all loved Freelancers Music? At least I and my friends did. What if we could have some new themed tunes when sitting around in the captains quarter and later in some bars:
Caldari Bar
Minmatar Gin Mill :)

These are just examples.

Most of you probably say: yeah I listen to my own music anyway, or radio, or whatnot. But I am also looking at newbies and first time players here! And at the folks that does still listen to the EvE Soundtrack - which by the way is really really good! It just needs some little refreshing tunes added to it :)

I know this aint so important for the most gamers (they think that yes) as other features should be of a higher priority.

But see that a games experience is by a large amount influenced by the Sound it produces! It does make a big difference! And as much as I like the Gun Sounds and all that - it could need some love after all!
Example: You know these cheap television Series? What is mainly so cheap about them -> they use bought sounds - they all use the same - it sounds boring, old and cheap - and this influences the whole Experience - we like Cinema Movies a lot more than TV Productions for example. Speaking generally here.

Maybe my perspective is a little bit narrow minded - as I am a Sound engineer myself. But although not all people are actively aware of Sound Quality and 'freshness' it directly influences the whole gameplay experience by such a large amount! Trust me!

I generally hope htis was posted in the correct Forum after all.

I agree with this fully.
I only read the part that said the Jukebox could need some more tunes of exactly this style.
But that is necessary. The same 5hour loop doesn't last a full day at work. I need at least a 23.5h loop.

I wonder what percentage of EVE players either disabled sound or are AFK when "playing", and thereby unable to enjoy the music? I think a high percentage. Smile

Not empty quoting a Tom Gerard post.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

I mute the music, so much easier to hear the screaming that way.Twisted
