Interbus and you.

I'm sure that we're all familiar with Interbus, yes? A NPC corporation that CCP never bothered to really flesh-out into anything useful. They have no stations and no LP stores, so doing missions for their handful of agents is pretty much pointless, correct? Except that it is not true. Interbus is remarkably useful, albeit for one thing, but it is a very important thing to many. To explain...

There are only two things you need to know about Interbus, those being that they have agents that you can work for and this:

TheInterbus > Caldari State 1.5 (Good)
TheInterbus > Minmatar Republic 1.25 (Good)
TheInterbus > Amarr Empire 0.25 (Neutral)
TheInterbus > Gallente Federation 3.0 (Good)
TheInterbus > Ammatar Mandate 0.75 (Good)
TheInterbus > CONCORD Assembly 9.0 (Excellent)
TheInterbus > KhanidKingdom 0.75 (Good)
TheInterbus > Servant Sisters of EVE 5.0 (Good)

Go through the list and you'll see that the only organizations that Interbus does not have a positive relationship with are the various criminal syndicates. This is very important when things like storyline missions come into play. In short, when you do a storyline mission for Interbus you will gain standing with all four of the major factions at once and lose faction with none of them.

For while one can, for instance, do storyline missions with the Caldari, doing so lowers one's standings with the Gallente and Minmatar. So now, in order to gain it back, you have to go do a storyline mission for both the Gallente and Minmatar now. And by doing those you lose standing with the Caldari and Amarr. It's an endless cycle of trying to gain points faster than you can lose them.

Or you could just skip the entropy factor entirely and do storyline missions with Interbus, gain respect with all the major factions and only lose status with filthy pirate groups that no respectable human being would want to associate with in the first place.

So for all you neutral traders out there who want to be on everyone's good side equally, there is your answer: Work for Interbus and eventually everyone will come to love you.

There are no storyline agents for Interbus. You will never get an Interbus faction mission.
It's been like that for years.

That is odd, because I've seen numerous faction gains show up in our reports from Interbus missions.

What, pray tell, do expect to see screenshots of, exactly? Or are you arguing just to be argumentative and feel superior? Really, gentlemen, why don't you just see for yourself before ... oh what is that word? "Trolling?"

No, it's a legit request. If you claim you've seen faction increases from Interbus, screenshot where you've seen them. Interbus lacks storyline agents for exactly the reason you describe.

Step by step:
Open your character sheet (Alt-A)
Click on Standings
Find under "Factions" - The Interbus
Mouse over to it, right-click and select "Show Transactions"
Take a screenshot, crop as needed and post it.

In addition, we'd also like to know the name of the Interbus agent that gave you a storyline mission.

What is at issue is getting faction standings with all other factions from doing missions for interbus. I tried that once. Did 16+ missions for an interbus agent... no storyline showed up.

Those aren't storyline missions and hence don't give any derived standings with anyone.

Edit: In fact, those aren't even going to increase your Interbus faction standing.

The problems with Interbus are that

A) There are no storyline mission agents to greatly boost your standings. Thus you will only see modest gains with the other factions.

B) There is no LP store for Interbus.

So basically you are throwing away the isk you could get from LP for minimal gains in faction with all 4 major factions. It makes more sense to do Sisters of Eve and if your rep with Caldari/Amarr starts getting to low just mission for a Caldari/Amarr corp for a while until you have a good buffer.

No, regular missions do not give faction standings. As a result, there are no derived standings gains at all.

It shows (as a sample) "From Amarr Empire To ...".
That's the bit that you left out for Interbus.

Soikka Otsotsu is a standard Interbus agent - NOT a storyline agent.
Storyline agents are not listed in the NPC corp tab that list their available/non-available agents. You need to use the agent finder.

The above shows the list of storyline agents for Emperor Family (NPC corp) under the Amarr Empire.
Note the settings used. Now, do a search for Interbus.
