I did a test launch from my "test bed" PI learning planet, and I couldn't find the launched cargo? I had my over view set to all and I didn't see anything, I was in a Iteron3 and I know it doesn't have a long scan range, but nothing was showing up on my overiew.

Its a low yield planet just to learn on and figure out my setup, so I'm not to worried yet.... I know a launch pad would be way better, but I'm still getting the hang of PI and don't have the power and skills to spare for one yet.

Open journal

Go to planetairy launches

Right click on the launch that is in there and warp to it

Also:

It's cheaper and easier to use a launchpad and just export stuff to the custom office. Specially if it's a player owned C.O. and you have friendly standings.

Thanks, I'm just playing round with it learning the ropes.

My next upgrade is putting a second advanced factory to speed up the building of P2s and putting more heads. When I get some my Command center upgrade skills up I'll put a spaceport up, but right now I'm just squeaking by making P2s.

This training cycle (level4) is taking 3 and a half days already, level 5 looks like it'll take at least a week(I didn't check it yet).

You can get a character from nothing to Command Centre Upgrades IV and Interplanetary Consolidation IV in less time than it takes to get a character from IV - V in those same skills. Just food for thought.

I trained up to Interplanetary Consolidation 3 and Command Centre Upgrades 3, I did CC to 2 then IC to 2 was going back and forth between the two. Now I'm training Command Centre Upgrades to 4 and thats 3 days, and 5 is 2 weeks(oh god, I thought I was grumbling bout going to 3). I think it'll be worth it.....someday.Evil

I went ahead and put out my second one last nite. I'm just

Small note: "scan range" (it seems that it's targeting range that you are talking about) has nothing to do with ability to see stuff on overview. You are either "on grid" with object or not. IIRC cloaked target would be the only exception.

Scan range of on-board scanner, probes and D-scan also same for every ship.

Yeah your right, I was ouside of warp range so thats why I wasnt seeing it. I just didnt understand how they put the launches in orbit. I just figured it was there for anyone to just show up and pickup like a jet can and I was rushing to pick it up, before someone just happened to notice it and grab it.

Around a month actually (depending on your implants / attributes ofc).

Personally - if you want to actually make some proper money from PI - I'd recommend biting the bullet and training for CCU 5 pretty quickly, Interplanetary Consolidation 4 will get you by just fine for now though (hell I've still not trained it to 5 Roll). I'd also recommend skilling up to use a cloak and moving your PI to low-sec, as there is much more money to be made there.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Sometimes when I post, I look at my sig and wish that I'd follow my own god damned advice.

Definately go to lowsec and make some friends there. If you do Show Info on a Customs Office in lowsec, you can see who it belongs to and who you need to get into contact with to obtain those standings. Don't get ripped off and don't pay any upkeeps: no matter how low the tax, you are already their cashcow if you do PI at their planets. There's nothing wrong with paying a small fee for a standings agreement or anything, but in general customs offices are owned by entrepeneurs who benefit from you making use of their planets.
