Unable to connect to Eve / website

Starting yesterday late afternoon/early evening (guessing 2-4pm eve time), I was disconnected from eve. Unable to login to eve, or hit eve's forums.

Almost like my DNS stopped working.

Except... the rest of my internet works fine. No problems at all. Tried plenty of websites, other games. Alliance comms, jabber, no hiccups.

Rebooted pc, router, everything.

The only way I am about to read these forums/post this - I am vpn'ed into another network, and getting in that way.

I can confirm that I was having this problem starting about 2 hours before DT and continuing on through out the day.

EXACT same situtation, in fact.
other web sites worked fine but anything related to eve was unresponsive.

Dunno what info might be useful to CCP, but here's some basic info:
Playing From: Tokyo, Japan
Connection type: Fiber-Optic
Behind router: Yes

Wasse, where are you connecting from?

Same deal for me, started yesterday, no connection to eveonline.com or any of the servers (sisi, tranq or api)
Something blocking it out down the line of interwebs servers.

Works fine from my work though, but I have no game client here...so I can't update my skill que Sad

Thoughts?

Edit: Connected through fiber aswell, 100/100 mbit

I'm so glad I'm not the only one... hopefully means it gets fixed :).

I am currently in Brno, Czech Republic. ISP is MaxProgres. Interestingly enough I have a similiar internet connection type - direct fiber. Not sure if that is anything, but it is a similiarity.

I am also unable to connect from my office; same city, same ISP. Different connection, but same ISP.

At the moment I"m just rdp'ed into a terminal server, and using a web browser from there :).

Same situation here on my broadband from Norway. EVE client, wwww.eveonline.com and Evemon is affected and unreachablesince yesterday Ugh.

Using my mobile phone atm as a router/modem and it is not affected by these routing problems along the line.

http://www.beusergroup.co.uk/?id=886 some Fibre breakdown might be related

"Edit - 2012-08-27 13:15:52: BE report "Dear members, the recent routing issues causing unreachable destinations from our network are caused by a major fibre breakdown. We're currently working with our partners to get a resolution or a workaround, but we can't risk giving an ETR for now.""

I am having the same problem, cannot connect to anything eve related(eve forums, main page, eve online and any of it's servers, eve wiki), when launching the eve launcher I get the "exception" error. When using a VPN I can get access to the forums and the eve launcher starts up like it should but I still cannot connect to Tranquility.

Since I cannot post HTML I cannot give you specifics on the error I get from using the repair tool...

I am running the Ping plotter and I will update once it's done.

I can confirm that obtaining a new IP from your ISP corrected the problem for me.

Good luck

I'd like to add that my internet is working and so is my router/modem. I can use my xbox 360 to play online.

Howdoes one go about getting a new IP without having to contact your ISP?
