I know it's been said, but the calvary raven, back when torpedos were long ranged slow missiles, and you could get the raven going about as fast as the missiles, you could get a cloud of missiles to hit the target all at once . . . good times . . .

But lets see . . . the Dominix before the NOS nerf? that was pretty OP

The nano typhoon before the speed nerf

the titan when it could AOE DD through a cyno!

pretty much anything with an extra midslot before the ecm/sensor damp nerf.

A single multi spec could pretty much keep any ship jammed about 50% of the time... and this was on ships without ecm bonuses. A couple of sensor damps and suddenly my raven only had a 20km lock range and had a 3 minute lock time on another battleship!

Also, fire and forget NOS... they used to suck down cap till your target was bone dry, even if you still had 100% cap left.


Also.. i miss my torp caracals.... And cruise missile krestrals.... and 1400 arties before guns had tracking and sig resolutions.

huginn/raipers used to be DEATH to frigs with 30+km 90% webs.

Blasterthrons before HP and tanking buffs were basically: Target, approach, F1-F7, receive kill mail.

crows that could go 10km/s with a tech 2 fit and have zero tracking issues due to missiles.

Phoons with 4 nos 4 torps 5 heavy drones and 10-15km/s.

anything with 2-3 warp-core stabs before they nerfed your targeting range and resolution (used to they had no penalties at all). Before the HP buffs a geddon with 8 stabbs could warp into a group of 5 or 6 players gank a cruiser or two then leave because they didn't have enough points to pin it down.


I also miss cloak + MWD = insta warp.

That awkward moment at the Gentlemen's Club when you see your sister on the stage....and you're not sure where to put the money....

8 heavy drones to be correct, which would be equal to 4 heavy today (the drone change cut every ships drone bay in half but doubled the hp and dps on all drones, the exception was the Thorax which got its drone bay cut to 1/4).

some of the more broken ships from the past in no particular order:

any ship with dual MWD and torps range clustering
1400 arty 'pests before tracking
Pretty much anything with dual mwd lol
nanophoons with pre nerf nos
cruise kessys
gank geddons (8 heatsinks)
first gen falcon
kite rifter/breacher with light missiles

Titan's jump-portal is by far the most OP thing ever hitting TQ and - guess what? - it's still here untouched.

He might have been referring to the period when you could "cycle" drones through your drone bay to get extra drones in "static" positions. I.e. you're at a gate camp and flying an ishkur with 5 T2 ogres out because you popped out one or two yourself, and then someone in a dominix tossed out 3 more, warped off, and you scooped them up into your drone bay to redeploy up to the hard limit of 5 drones.

Basically at that point as long as it didn't need to warp around, or didn't care about losing drones if it did warp, any ship with at least 25mb drone bay could field 5 T2 heavies providing enough "donor" ships/drones in the vicinity.

The reason I specified that I wanted OP vehicles that are nerfed as of now is because balance is a touchy subject and I didn't want this to devolve into a balance discussion.

This is how it always goes in my experience:

Step 1: "This is OP"

Step 2: "No it's not, learn to play."

Step 3: "Yes it is, here's why it is bad for the game."

Step 4: "You're a carebear newbie."

Step 5: "No I'm not, I'm a vet from beta day and I own sovereignty. This is overpowered."

Then go back to step 2 and repeat as necessary.
