Is it possible to get Public Contracts via API.

I wish to check the prices of items that are not on market via API. Is it possible to query for Public Contracts via API say Rattlesnake BPC and it returns XML or whatever result with info on all public Rattlesnake BPC contracts.

If its possible can someone point me in the direction where i can learn more about it or show me an example.

No, you can only get contracts for the character or corporation associated with an API key, you cannot query public contracts in general.
