I was in a hurry and bought a 9m isk shuttle once

You checked contracts, found the good prices for them and sold them to make lots of isk?

some of my first ship fittings were horrible atrocities against all of eve at the time as I started learning to play. At the time I hadn't learned about killboards or reading about fittings and what various mods passively did to your ship. So I ended up with hilarious crap like.. cargo expanders on a thorax hull.

the lesson from this is that you should read and pay attention to killboards and ask people for fitting advice and fully read the attributes of what mods do to your ship.

secondly, don't log in while drunk. i did that recently, and almost bought a billion isk worth of skillbooks when i thought it was SISI i was on.

lesson from that is.. don't log in while drunk, and if you have multiple installs, be very aware of which server you're connecting to.

Trust your gut instinct. I've had a number of people try to appeal to my sense of greed, or superior knowledge or capability or whatever in an attempt to get close to me and screw me over. They were transparent considering the circumstances, so I laughed at them or played with them for a bit before shutting them down.

lesson from that is.. use logic, and trust your instinct of people and their intent considering the situation you're in. it can and will save you much pain and embarrassment.

if you think someone is an alt, they MOST LIKELY are. Again with the above, ive had people try to use alts to pull one over on me for various reasons, or evade being detected, or seperate their mains from whatever evil they were pulling, so as to not damage their main reputation. if you think someone is an alt, they are, without question until proven beyond a shadow of a doubt otherwise.

otherwise i have been very lucky with EVE, most of my other horrible mistakes were getting overconfident or trusting someone more than I should have. They didn't hurt me too much in the long run, and many times, I got taught a lot. I got taught the hard way, but its the better way to learn with some stuff.

Never underestimate the effectiveness of Epithet Hurling Lvl 5.


P.S. The sheer crappiness of learning how to fit an armor tanked ship when you are used to shield tanking. Sure, I could find fits in various places, but where is the fun in learning from other people's experience?

Moving around bpos and bpcs and then heading to jita and forgetting that I hadnt unloaded the bpos, back before they were different colors for bpos and bpcs, and then proceeding to give people some REALLY good deals on bpos. Being almost in tears when I realized the mistake as they were corp bpos and having to get and pay off a loan to rebuy them from an old friend.

That will always be the dumbest thing I have done in Eve.

Man, If only you could bronze shuttles, lol (or make it your Corp mascot or something)
