I am recently working on remastering (a little) old login themes of Eve, and in the process, it came to me than the whole soundtrack is encoded in .ogg at 45kbps login music included.
In Apocrypha they re-encoded them (for Mac's jukebox bug i suppose) in Mp3, still at 50kbps Roll

Looking the spectrogram, it's SOOOO awful (and much much worse in mp3)

Now when i look thoses files i downloaded in MP3 224k or more on eve-files which are shown on itunes at 76 reads already ... well it was just a reencode from the 50kbps Evil ogg vorbis !
I saw a carebear tear from my left eye ! (delicious !)

I know there's a CD out there, but with some (and not he best) songs with a different tempo. (rythm)

Would like to know if CCP or our beloved friend Jon Hallur ever released something actually NICE !
like a 20Hz-20Khz ranged hamonics, 48khz-96khz losseless or AAC-LC going nuts !

Anything but better than those source's 50kbps Ogg Vorbis.

Hey Eve is now 12Gb. come on, if we have 1Gb of high quality music, i wouldn't say no.
we don't play eve on a gameboy

and the TL;DR :
Just looking for an hypothetic higher bitrate recorded source i can buy or something.

Obligatory "there's sound in EVE?" post.

Seriously though, that's an interesting find. Smile

Translation: I got to the boss and defeated him. In the next room I received the cake I was promised. But the cake was a slice of a slice and all the icing scraped off, replace with used motor oil.

No, I haven't seen such a compilation. Ideal would be a lossless format CD of course. This is why I don't even bother with itunes etc.
