[Win8] Unable to patch EVE

After upgrading my laptop to Windows 8 I am unable to patch the game.

When I try patching I get an error that it was unable to patch saying it will retry with raised priviledges, which it does, and then fails and tells me to retry after rebooting my computer, which I have tried.

Does anyone know the sollution to this?

try turning off UAC or running the launcher as administrator
