Hands up if you're guilty.

I always move my ship to within 500m of an asteroid for maximum crackling goodness, especially when I use mining drones.

You can just position the camera really close to the asteroid.

I like the sound. Just not when it doesn't stop, even when I dock up to drop off my ore.

I'll admit to having a certain taste for that sound. It is...therapeutic in a sense.

It's the same reason I miss the old crackling wind sound when you warped back in the day.

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.

Crunching through pork scratchings also enhances the experience! Double the crackling!

I preferred the old Strip miner sounds. As far as I can tell the rocks have the same noise they have for a long time, but when they added funky turrets they made the Strips sound crap imo. Before it was much more of a crunching grinding rock sound, now it's just a buzz.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Indeed I was sad when I came back to the game and found out that the mining sounds were nerfed. Now I cannot even tell if my mining lasers are pew pewing without looking :(

Yes it is a sweet sweet sounds in deed. Others love the sounds of ships exploding, but give me the sound of Strip miners any day. Big smile
