Giving out Full API?

Have a question maybe you could help me with. There is a large corp in 0.0 that is recuiting that I'm interested in joining. However they require your Full Api for security reasons. I understand that corps need to check for spies and they need to check to see you are who you say you are but can't they get that from Limited API? Is this a common practice for large corps in large alliances? I've always heard to never give out your Full API to anyone. I know not everyone in EVE is shady but this is EVE. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, it's common in 0.0 corps. There is no harm in you giving them your full API and then resetting it when they take a look. Obviously unless you have something to hide.

No longer are there Full or Limited APIs. You create custom APIs now.

At any rate, what they are most interested in is the complete list of your wallet and contract transactions. Not so that they can steal from you (they cannot), but so that they can glean any alts that you may be supporting (or vice-versa) through payments of ISK or large private contract exchanges.

There is no more risk to your account giving out an API that gives access to all your character information, than giving one out that contains limited information. You're just supplying more detailed information on your complete character history.

the one thing you should be careful about is evemails (as you might have RL information about yourself or other players in your mails)

alot the 0,0 alliance do the full api thing so they can see wallet transactions too , as i guess money being transfered often between say you and a alt or a main can be checked to see who they are , been a few spies un-covered by that way .
as guys say above its a normal thing to be asked for it but if you got personel info in some the mails you have then yes becareful .
