I hope this is right place to put this.

The amarr stargate has like 4 times the amount of structure it needs. I'm fairly sure the intended tactic isn't to set orbit and go make a make a sandwich instead of playing the game. :)

For reference, I could nearly clear the whole mission twice in the time it takes to blow up that one gate. I'm running an AC Maelstrom, around 500dps.

Maybe there's one too many "0's"? :P

I like big guns. I can not lie. You other suckas can't deny. When I warp in, with an itty bity sig, with an arty in your face, you get sprung. You want to pull out your debuffs, 'cause you want to loot my stuff...deep, in a worm with nary, an escape but you can't stop staring. 'Cause, Oh crap!, Baby's got Point!

Battleships should pump out +1000 dps, and there is no need to decrease your hit quality (large guns are not known for their stellar tracking) by orbiting a structure.

Work on your skills, park your BS at point blank range, load up close range ammo, or preferably find something more fun to do in EVE than bashing NPC structures :)

Thank you for the tips, but I do understand how projectile guns work. :)

I was stationary (no tracking/sig penalty) under optimal range (100% hit chance, so no penalty to damage range or hit rate) and loaded with close range ammo. The structure had no resists. I couldn't get any more optimal than that.

The point was the discrepancy between how many hit points the enemies had versus the structure.

I also notice the same discrepancy in the final mission (5 of 5)to take down the caldari supply depot or whatever it was called.

In both cases I cleared the rats without trouble, but the structures took an order of magnitude longer even with optimal dps. I could double my dps and it would still take too compared to the rest of the mission.

To be clear, both missions required the destruction of a structure. I wasn't doing for kicks. :)
