Retriever BPOs are up to 1.59 billion at ORE stations... how many purchases does that take?

It's just one of those little things in EVE that make me go, whoa. I'm used to seeing, say, skillbooks for 90000.01 isk at book-stations near hubs... but to increase the price of an item by 75%? How many people had to trek down into Outer Ring to make this happen?...

Heh, I was wondering when threads like this would pop out. Both Retriever and Procurer BPOs NPC price were increased by a huge margin. Skillbook too eh?
It caught some offguard (inc myself), though I think a few had an inkling that will happen. There's a massive amount of profit there if you had invested before the patch.

Oh well, there's always a next time.

Its up that high because the new NPC price is close to 2 billion for the BPO as oppsed to the old 500 to 600 mil

I only had a Covetor BPO, but bought the other two just before the patch.

Procurer: was 450m, currently 1,259,679,426.06 (player 3 unit sell order at 1b)
Retriever: was 900m, currently 1,529,776,437.22
Covetor: unchanged at 2b (supposedly 1.8b is the base, though I always find it at 2b)

I have a no skill alt sitting in an ORE station (made the trip in a rookie ship).

I suppose that is small consolation. I submitted a bug report after the patch when I noticed the pricing in the ORE corp info window didn't accurately reflect the prices available at the station. It is nervy enough making the trip out there and back, putting a few billion in pieces of paper into play... but to find out the profit is all gone and the trip was a waste of time? Very annoying...

I was just planning out my trip to null sec Ore station thinking the BPOs would not be so expensive as they are when resold in high. Thank you for saving me the bother. Whew, that is a massive jump in price.

I may not like you or your point of view but you have a right to voice it.

Ignore the barges for now. They're (or soon will be) massively oversupplied. You won't be able to compete with people who made them before the changes.

as a note, the prices listed in the corp info, are based off the last sale price and are changed when a purchase is made. they do not reflect the base npc cost nor the maximum. only the last sale price.

Npc sale prices may differ across their own stations so you can find them lower or higher then the price listed. do not take that as gospel for what the price will be.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

Interesting that the price is still going up a bit (current ORE prices):

Procurer: 1,259,995,189.80 (looks dead - 6 in last 14 days)
Retriever: 1,529,996,645.49 (still active - 86 in last 14 days)
Covetor: 2b (looks dead - 6 in last 14 days)

Yep, judging from the activity, the new darling of the industry is now the Retriever (Mackinaw).
Saw people dumping Covetor prints below the 2bil NPC price ... was almost tempted.

Makes you wonder how many people in EVE _really_ actively mine using Hulks now that the Mackinaw offers a convenient alternative for semi-afk mining.
