POCOs, are they being used?

POCOs (Player Owned Custom Offices) where introduced with Crucible, but i haven't heard much on them since. Yesterday i asked a bit around and nobody was aware of their existence, which has left me puzzled. Ugh

Are POCOs being used? Do they play any relevant role?

In hi-sec with the NPC owned ones probably not but to my knowledge they are used everywhere else to some degree.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

I use them like, every few days or so. They're pretty handy.

Sounds like you're in HS.

Everywhere else, the useful planets usually have them up already.

Change rocks. The one you're living under is apparently extraordinarily out of touch.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

They are a nice source of income.

Also sometimes people attack them to get a fight from the owners.

It's a minigame about facilities emoting each other.

Confirming that POCOs do exist and conflict resolves around them. I used to have 4 of them and pulled in a modest profit from the taxes from them. That is until I gave intel on a gate camp the locals were running after which they took revenge by tearing down all of my in-space internet pixels.

Real men use POCOs for profit and bait

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

yes they are being used and for my industrial characters they are a mixed blessing
Thanks to several corporations who took the initiative my PI is taxed relatively light (5%) compared to 17% to others

On the other hand i still believe their introductuin was not needed , a waste of dev time and energy and only complicate matters

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

Why wouldn't you use them? (unless you do PI in high sec)

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

I really like to see what happens if high-sec POCO's go over into player hands. Cool

I was thinking they were made so Dust soldiers could blow them out of space via a huge planet based weapon. Dust was going to interact with PI somehow, wasn't it?

Why else would we care about what Dust soldiers did? They'd have to do something important, for us to give them contracts to do things, which affected other Eve players somehow?

Yes, and Yes.

They definitely aren't used in High-sec, since you can't destroy the Concord owned ones to anchor them. ;) I'm kind of hoping this will change in the future, but I doubt it.

If anyone could let me know i would appreciate it.
