Online Training Queue Access

Hello everyone,

This post is aimed towards the DEVs, but others may voice their opinions as well.

I recently ran into an issue over this week dealing with my queue running dry. I know people say "What a nOOb thing to do," but this was out of my control. I started this char a while back in 2011, and just reactivated it right before I was leaving for a trip out of town. With the complement of my skills that I had. I couldn't fit anything into my queue that would last the full time I was out of town. I also only keep EVE on my home rig seeing I don't own a laptop. You can see where I'm going with this.

I just thought it would be cool if we could manage our training queues from EVE Gate. Would make EVE a bit more "Mobile" than requiring to be in game. Especially since we live in the era of smart phones with internet browsers. It seems like a pretty harmless idea seeing that we still have to go in game to actually make ISK and live our EVE lives. Though its hard sometimes when I cant change my training queue without having access to a full EVE client.

It would make things more convenient, and not have to hand over my username and password to a friend, and hope he is a true "friend" without ransacking your char of all his possessions and ISK. Hopefully this might spark some motivation and ingenuity among the developers to implement. Here's me hoping. *Fingers Crossed*

Yes...they've always resisted doing that for this very reason.

They still pay subscription fees. So, what's the problem? Unless CCP has seen evidence that points towards that sort of activity leading to people unsubscribing eventually, it doesn't really make a difference. That's potentially a real problem, but outside of that, it doesn't seem to be that bad of an idea.

This might do the trick for you.

EVE's pretty portable.

This.

I know folk who have got to the point where they only have long skills to train, and they only log in to check/change them every few weeks.

Shame really.

This is not a signature.

I have to agree. Yeah some people may not log in, but if your running multiple chars. On multiple subs. Your not always going to be on all of them. Especially if you're getting certain skills up before actually putting the char to use. CCP is getting their money regardless. Wether you're using one char or another more. This just adds flexibility and better upkeep on your training queue when not having access to a client.

A mobile app would be best. For example when I am on HMS Illustrious later this year I would love to be able to update my queue when I get any sort of signal.

Again, we're still paying subscription fees, so what does it really matter? I can't play for 18-20 days at a time because I drive truck, and since I can't update my queue without playing, I lose a LOT of valuable training time. The ability to update/modify our queues, or even a longer queue would be a huge benefit to people in my situation. I'd even have a reason to reactivate my second account, and make progress on it since it's still in the stages of a couple hour to three day trains.
