PC will probably never die, but it is no longer the king of games, console is and will remain the gamers choice. PC died when the original xbox took the shooter crown from PC.
now you can cry, kick, scream, say I am wrong all you want, but deep down every pcfanboy knows console is where the gamers are, many gamers do both, but very few if any remain solo to PC.

I fail to see any difference, nor superiority of PC over console with that video, mostly fast-paced FPS... or is it about the music??

Well, I for one stopped owning consoles after the Sega Genesis.

Only thing I bought after that was a PS1 and DS that quickly ended given away to family.

And Im not alone, several of my friends barely own a wii, and I was forced to buy one for my wife.

Console games are totally lost on me. Never liked em after a while and really regret the move to consoles, but to say FEW if ANY people around game on PC is a total fallacy.

These days I only play on what few spare hours I have on PC, mostly DOTA2 and current MMOs plus steam pc games on sale I can find.

If I wanted to mash buttons as I get neural spammed by bright lights and odd sounds I would probably play a console. Fact is, im the guy that plays with low or no sound and low lights. Sheer walls of text filled with data are usually something I enjoy and to be honest Im the kind of old skool gamer that makes along a story as I play anything trying to generate a script of and adventure in my mind and acting it out ingame. Even when I played Thief back in the day I usually moved bodies around and crawled along nooks and crannies even when no one was on radar just to keep it in character. A habit I got from text based muds and perhaps Zork.

I am perhaps a dinosaur in gaming terms, but really, theres a lot of people out there like me, else GOG or STEAM would never exist. Besides I dont see myself playing a MMO or the weird Indy games I enjoy on a Console lately.

Not out of sheer hardware power, but mostly out of the fact PC games usually have titles that have something more to than FPS fragging and endless grinding of buttons.

I am actually enjoying several games over and over that allow modding like Warband and even ones that are mostly console ports like FO3 and FNV.

PC Game dying? naaa, mostly evolving into a niche market. And everyone knows niche markets are profitable, and steam catched on on it.

Also , remotely related , we are heading towards an Open Source bonanza, places where monolithic behemoths like EA or Sony will never be able to touch, monoliths that screwed game after game after game for the sheer stupidity of greed.

I welcome the Ouya:http://www.ouya.tv/

We need to evolve. Proprietary software is the demise of innovation.

When consoles are truly open source and everyone can tap into it and develop without the pressure of greed, you will see PC and Console gaming fused into a new generation of real free gaming.

Thats the future, not the limited triple AAA games that get churned over and over every year.

I actually don't have many apps on my iphone and I don't own a tablet, mostly because I have no use for one. The entire app list on my iphone consists of the swtor authenticator, angry birds, office jerk, the gmail authenticator, pandora and pac-man, outside of the standard phone features.

To be completely honest, PC gaming won't die and consoles aren't going anywhere new. Iphones/tablets and other mobile stuff aren't a threat because the computing power and control functions simply don't exist for any game worthy of being called an "aaa title".

In my opinion, anyone saying pc/computer gaming is dying is overhyping it and doesn't fully understand why they're wrong, or simply thinks they're right by virtue of not being able to be wrong to begin with.

Someone tell me when an iphone can run eve with full controls and rendering detail without a hiccup.

Hell no. In fact, I'd say it is getting stronger.

Despite the decline in game sales, Steam consistently turns a larger profit with each year.

PC games sells more than both wii and ps3 and it´s getting very close to xbox 360.

I play on both sides of the track.

PC: Strategy games and MMOs, mostly.

Console: Basically everything else.
