HUD Semantically Incorrect

The speed indicator on the HUD as we all liked it was the clickable speed within two arrows which represented minimum and maximum speed and were also clickable, like this:

Now it has changed to a weird description using "-" and "+", like this:

-=============+
Speed

While it not only looks awful, it is semantically incorrect use of "-" and "+". "-" means to substract a value or even a negative value, while "+" means to add something or a positive value.

What CCP wants to tell is in fact "0" Speed on the left and "Maximum" Speed on the right:

0=============MAX
Speeed

Using "-" and "+" to represent this is just wrong and looks stupit.

Please correct in the next revision or have QC say how it came to this decision. It makes you really not wanting to look at the HUD at all.

I could rant about all the grammatical and spelling errors in the game, but I don't. It's not really a big deal.

They actually talked about this in the NPE blog, it's to help new players differentiate between fast and slow. What? Looks bad though.

CCP actually explained their decision (and acknowledged the issue outlined by the OP) in a devblog iirc.
