What happens to POCOs if the owning corp is closed down?

So here's the scenario:

A given corp has blasted the Interbus Customs Offices and put up Player Owned Custom Offices (POCOs) and at some later date the corp closes down. As it stands right now, the POCOs become "invisible" but remain in orbit. So what does this mean for you?

It means you cannot blast those POCOs because you can't even see them. It also means you cannot put up your own because there are already POCOs there. Clearly an undesirable condition. So petition time it is and CCP acknowledges this as a problem. They're "working on it" but it's been weeks with no progress.

Does anyone know if this behavior also manifests in K-Space?

Thanks!

They "go invisible"? Huh, interesting. Well, if they can't be popped (invisible) and the owning corp is closed down I would assume the only option is to petition it.

I would imagine they'd be the same as POS: they remain until destroyed.

First I've ever heard of invisible POCO. It sounds like a bug to me, and I'd report it.

if i knew the name, i'd have an alt create the same corp and ticker and see if i automatically claim it :P

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Can't re-create corps by the same name, thats why when people re-crate old corps they had a . (dot) at the end.

if they dont fix it, i might drop a few dreads into select WHs and put up alt corp POCOs and disband the corp :D

that is incorrect. you can recreate a corp if the corp dies empty. if they leave a ceo in, then it holds the place.

Then the corp is officially not dead Roll

I received a response to the petition this morning saying the issue was resolved and we can now anchor POCOs on the planets. We'll try this tonight and I'll respond back on this thread with results.

Thanks!

Confirmed. The issue is resolved. It took a couple of client updates last week but we were able to anchor new POCOs and everything is working as expected.

Thanks!
