That'd be a nice buff.

Since we are talking about the deimos, i might as well come up with a suggested buff for it, so here goes
Change the utility high into a low or med slot. Buff the agility of it and give it a pg boost.

A web strength bonus would have been nice as well(one can only dreamBig smile)

If he try plating a Vaga, it seems dubious, but he did manage with his clumsly PG comparaison to point out one relatively minor balance issue: autocanons don't use enough powergrid, compared to other close-range guns. You can have a full rack of the biggest racial close-range guns on a minmatar cruiser/BC/BS, and you'll have maybe 60% of the ship's powergrid used up. With the other races, it's more like 80-90%.

Back to the topic, since complaints about the Deimos are few and far between, so there is obviously no huge problem with them. Let's wait after the coming hybrid rebalance to reevaluate the ship again.

Knowing CCP, the hybrid buff will mean that only the worst of the current hybrid ships will be even close to balanced, so no ;)

See this is why CCP should never fix or balance anything ever. As soon as they do people start bringing up almost every ship, weapon system, ship class in game demanding a fix.

good sir, you deserve a headbutt to the ovaries.

Yes ofc the titan doomsday smartbombs should have been left. *sarcasm...*
Yes the mines should have been left.
Yes the mass amounts of undocking to crash the server should have been left.
and on and on and on...

Or, it could be that ppl gave up trying to get it boosted years ago.

Reminds me at the old SHC thread about it(I think it was about 20+ pages).

Bottom line would be you can't fix the diemost, since anything close to useful would be "overpowered"(at least according to the feedback I did hear over the years) and everybody got something like a double standard of ship balance, where it is ok that other hacs are very good in gangs and medium range but it is somehow ok that HACs that are build around close range PVP(Sac and Diemost) are very bad at it.

To fix hybrids you need to know how they work and why they fail so much. CCP doesn't(link me a single statement where they did post something insightful about the topic) and most people that did haven't flown an hull with hybrids for a long time or did quit a long time ago. I would be surprised if the hybrid boost actually turns out to be good, because the feedback I did get about it 3 years ago literally destroyed my last illusion that the people in charge of game design actually knowing her own game.

Bottom line, even by overboosting hybrids, chances are still very high to end up with something useless. It is very different to the projectile or laser changes back in the days, since there are no good points like massive range or a tons of good hulls to work with. The only thing you start off is the ashes of ships that where barely useful 3 years ago before they received the last sledgehammer nerf and vanished form pvp.

in small fleets, it's a great ship for pure dps. load up a bunch of neutron blasters, mag stabs, and be ready to die, but cause pain on the way down.

i love my deimos, so any attention my epeen gets is welcome.

i could expand on that, but i think the implication is quite clear.

I once flew a Deimos and also feel that it was rather painful for my enemies. White-hot blaster-plasma shooting all over my enemies. It sure hurt them.

The Diemos, well, dies the most, because it gets primaried due to it's ability to wreak havoc. It's not so much a question of ship balance, but of threat assessment.

Or, it could be because as a t2 ship they cost a "lot", and still have close to no tankBlink

Why use the Diemost when you have Vagas and Zealots?

Stop being masochist, hell, use Cynabals or vigilants, feel the power and stop hurting yourself using crap ships.

The thing most people forget is that the Deimos has been boosted numerous times over the last 4 years. More so than any other Gallente ship. It probably goes to show that the entire concept of the ship is probably flawed. (my guess would be that it's due isk cost vs survivability. See risk vs reward)

what we need most in eve is diversity, that keeps the game interesting. increase complexity.

so i suggest CCP takes a look at their statistics and see which ships are used least frequently (fly time, also deaths). if the deimos is among those, then please increase its attractiveness.

it would be very interesting to see all those numbers ;)

Id love to hear what those numerous boosts were, cause i can only remember one, and the only reason i remember that was cause i was talking to the dev before he boosted it. And that was a agility boost with some added pg

Probably my bad, I thought the speed/mass increases where separate from the power grid change.
