Saw an incident last night that made me think about all the tales of woe we get in crime and punishment, so I thought it was time for a thread about any fortunate events or lucky escapes involving crime and criminals in Eve.

Was taking a short cut through Low Sec last night in my shuttle. As I arrive on grid on the Egghelende gate in Siseide an ORCA jumps through the gate followed by Pirate piloting a Cynabal. I jump through to the other side to see the Cynabal scram the Orca and the pilot shouts in local 'Orca tackled on Siseide gate!'

I warp to a safespot off gate to watch the ensuing death of the Orca but fortunately for the pilot the Cynabal is popped by gate guns and the Orca manages to align and warp to high sec as a Hurricane lands on grid to finish him off!

That was one stupid but lucky Miner!

Not sure if it counts as this happened in null, but it was Providence, so....

Back on my first character in my early noobs days I was flying a PvE fit Stabber full of crap to sell at a station when I came though a gate and saw a red taranis tackle a neutral badger. Barely knowing anything about PvP, I did at least know enough about null to know there was a huge gang about 4 jumps away as we were close to the border with AAA where UK was hiding like Viet Cong at the time. I also knew everyone was damn skittish until they had guaranteed success, so I locked the taranis and burned towards him like I knew what I was doing.

He promptly ran and I promptly did a U-turn back to the gate and jumped through as a Rifter tried to point me. Didn't even think about the badger until I got a convo later thanking me for saving him.

I come under periodic attack from assassins who want to make a name for themselves by killing my Invincible Stabber. Despite their unorthodox tactics I manage to escape with my honour--and my ship--intact each time. Cool

Oh man, I got one for ya. So I was going in for a suicide gank on this Hulk, and I warp to my cloaked up scout, who I thought I'd warped off the grid after my Catalyst entered warp. When I landed, I decloaked my scout, accidentally targeted him and almost ripped his poor little Helios to shreds. I wasn't expecting any other ship to be on my overview and was a little too quick on the trigger. Got lucky and deactivated my guns before the lock, switched to the Hulk and shot him in the face.

Lesson learned: don't dual-box suicide gank while half drunk!

I did fail to suicide gank a retriever in a thorax once. That was downright humiliating Oops

Once I was lucky enough to beat a ganker's hauler alt to 1.5bil of loot.
I was especially lucky that it was all implants which fitted easily into the frigate I happened to be flying at the time.

Post with your monkey.
