Poll: Serenity Server vs Tranquility Server War?

I saw a post questioning why Western Eve and China Eve were separate that got me nerd fantasizing about a hypothetical scenario.

What IF, for a period of say 1 year, Tranquility and Serenity had access to a new server, devoid of any claimed space, seeded market, or anything at all. Everyone had to start from scratch. Who would win in the ensuing war in terms of owned space? An [Alliance] of Western Corps (i.e. Goons, AAA, Solar Fleet, Intrepid Crossing, Test, Red Overlord, NCdot, Razor, etc)or a [Coalition] of Chinese corps (Galactic Business Community, R.A.C., Eastern Federation, Fadeklein Alliance, Crescent Passenger Express Inc, etc)?

Would the [Alliance] simply win by sheer numbers over the [Coalition], or would the [Coalition] end up being more dedicated to the cause of beating a Western entity in the game?

I think it would be interesting, but it's hard to imagine the Tranquility peeps not winning. Cool

It'd be a rush to titans and capital ships in general.

Resident Haruhiist since December 2008.

Laying claim to Out of Pod Experience since 2007, plain and simple. Keep the trash out of [u]Out Of Pod Experience[/u], If it's EVE Related or deserves a Lock, it does not belong here.

From what I know of Serenity, their culture isn't nearly as cut-throat as ours. We're far better versed in the mechanics of the game and would stomp them in a 1:1 fight, nevermind the sheer numbers we'd bring.

We'd probably win. Increased numbers also means raising the bar on collective player skill and sheer will to win, if only to stay competitive against much more other alliances.
Not to say there aren't skilled Chinese individual eve players, because there definitely are. But as a group they use methods that were obsolete in Tranq for many, many years.

If there's anything we've learned from Serenity, it's that it'd be a race to train Anchoring V

I'm willing to bet a tidy sum that they work better together than we do. Our server is stuck in the mindset of individual desire over community needs. We'll go in hard and then tear ourselves apart with scams and divisiveness. They'll take us out, no problem. Just like they're going to do in RL. As a society, they think in centuries and millenia. We're too busy twittering to think at all.

Yeah, TQ would win quite easily. Roll up with their T2 BPOs, pop out fleets of T2 ships and mods while the other group is farting around trying to get datacores.

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.

The references to Tiananmen Square, Tibet, and Nanjing in local would be scrolling faster than the eye could follow.

You'd have to shut off Tranquility to get me to go fight against the Chinese from scratch. I has too many stuffs to give it all up.

Hell, you'd have to redirect Tranquility to the war server to even get half the population to notice. Most people don't notice things like popups, flashy ads, forum posts, news items or anything like that.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Interesting position. I kind of tend to agree. We're all to cynical and jaded.

BUT.

What if we went head to head, right now as we were. Same ships, stations, guns, skill points, etc. No rushing, just two sides with what they already had on their respective servers, going head to head IMMEDIATELY.

Yeah, it's just as cut throat maybe even more so and China will never allow us to freely talk to their citizens. People from Hong Kong and Macau don't count as Chinese citizens. When some factory worker from Guandong gets an EvE account let me know.

War, mmm? What about a cross-server Alliance Tournament organized within limits that controlled isk investment as a pivotal factor and instead played to player/group fleet skill? Heck, run it on singularity or a similar type of server.
